Forums - Gaming - Final Fantasy XV: Off-Road Regalia Coming this Month

Finally! I would have loved this at launch but finally driving the car won't be a chore!

During a Final Fantasy 30th anniversary event held today in Yokohama, Final Fantasy XV Game Design Section Manager Kenichi Shida made a few announcements about future updates to the game.

First of all, the Episode Prompto DLC is now (predictably) slated for release at the end of June, but we now learn that it will receive a theme song created by Final Fantasy XI Composer Naoshi Mizuta.

Incidentally, Shida-san also mentioned that more information will come next week at E3, but it will include new gameplay modes like the previous DLC Episode Gladiolus did.

There are news for those interested in free content as well: Shida-san revealed that an update at the end of the month will include the “Cup Noodle Style” for Noctis, and the already showcased “Regalia Type-D” able to travel off road.

In the gallery below you can check out the slides used to present the news, including a screenshot of the final form of the Regalia Type-D.

If you want to see the Regalia Type-D in action, you can check out the first work in-progress video shared a while ago, and the second. You can also watch the latest teaser trailer of the Episode Prompto DLC.

Around the Network

About 6 months too late for me. There's no way in hell I'm playing this game AGAIN with its enhancements only because Square Enix was too lazy to finish the damn thing before release.

And there will be people who praises them for supporting the game for this long. No wonder the industry is going downhill and without brakes...

By the time everything is released I imagine it will be what everyone had originally hoped for. They still have a ton of stuff they will be adding, i plan to replay the game once all is said and done. Additional story, the Regalia and side quests were my biggest complaint. They've already fixed the Regalia, they are still adding story aswell, si hopefully they will fix my last issue and add some meaningful side quests.

Yesss! Should finally make driving somewhat interesting. On the other hand, this will really hurt the usefulness of chocobos, which I'm a bit sad of. Chocobos are quite fun in the game but I doubt there's going to be many situation where I'm going to ignore speed in favour of cute animals.
