Supposedly the best Metroid type game in along time.
Atleast if there isnt a new Metroid this year for Nintendo fans, they will have this instead.

Well I'm sold.

It looks like you get the soundtrack with the switch whenever you purchase it but at a $10 premium ... not sure what to think about that. I would have liked to have seen parity in the pricing across all platforms.

was a half decent game let down by just how much it tries to be metroid - metroid 2d games were great and are still great now, i was just dissapointed by how little they strayed from what at times felt like little more than a reskined hack.

By all means go for the metroid look and feel but some unique and fresh ideas were sorely needed.

I know I'm out of sync with the comments here but a quick look shows a game of pretty much of 8bit quality that could be beaten by even NES games but has many great similar games on Megadrive, Super Nintendo, Saturn and Amiga. It looks utterly retro but in a bad way. Metroid or something like Super Turrican 2 on the super nintendo seems far better or many more recent metroid games using modern 2D graphics.

You have to remember in the past when such games were major releases for hardware only just capable of it games were developed by major developers with finely crafted gameplay and wonderful soundtracks. I'd personally rather play a classic highly rated game rather than just a new version of something similar.

I guess the point I'm making is don't just look for new games like this which require little in hardware performance. There are a huge number of well crafted classic games.
