Yes, they started doing that when they had to many games, which was E3 2015. Again, they have to many games to show at E3 so they're starting their pre-E3 announcements.

I've never played the earlier games in the series; I watched the video and the combat seemed very different than what I was expecting. I guess I thought it was a more straight up fighting game like Soulcalibur (or Ehrgeiz).
What is the gameplay like? Is there usually a decent amount of stuff to do in single player mode?

Jecht will be coming for sure, they are still adding more characters every month or so. I imagine all the characters from the original will return.
