I'm surprised it took them this long to get it, especially after how lopsided the sales were even with XB marketing.

They probably did feel they needed it.  With the ps4 pro going to get a big push this holiday they probably felt this marketing would be useful.

With the amount of sales it already sells on ps4 vs xbox it probably isn't too costly for them to nab this.

This isn't that big of a deal imho, FIFA already sells the most on PS4 here in Europe, PS4 ads are constantly shown during football matches to further associate the game with the system

Yes, but now it will sell even more and it can run with the heading 'Native 4K'.

Eh... I don't know about selling more, FIFA 17 had a 2M+ boost over 16, mostly due to Frostbyte being the new engine and the addition of the campaign, I don't know if FIFA 18 will manage to improve as much as 17 did. Plus the game will also be on Switch now, which, while certainly not threatening the PS4 version, will lead some people to buy it on that system, I heard from many FIFA fans that it's very usefull to have 2 controllers from the get go since many usually play alone and have to bring their own controller to their friends' home in order to play togheter...

PlayStation had Europe on lockdown but this year, oh boy... Total massacre.

The last fifa sold insanely on ps4. Over 10m retail only.  the sales of fifa 18 on ps4 will be astronomical.  Ps4 pro sales will also be massive. So excited to see the numbers later this year.

Is there any big football event (like European championship or World Championship) coming this year? If not, I doubt FIFA 18 will outsell FIFA 17 (although it will certainly come close to 10 million).

Switch version is announced and it's going to be sub par vs the ps4 version. Not using frostbite and it's missing modes.

Well, I guess they could bundle it with the Pro, but wouldn't a vanilla PS4 bundle have a higher sales potential?

FIFA 18 on ps4 will easily beat 10m. It will sell more on ps4 this year.  Only thing to hamper the retail sales will be higher digital ratio.

But why buy a PS4 Pro at 350$ when they could buy a PS4 Slim at 200$ ? On a consummer standpoint, it doesn't make much sense tht someone would go for the former option.

Sony announced 1 in 5 sales are the Pro. That's 20% but they said it would have been higher if they were able to meet demand which they haven't. They also said in the period they held back a lot of advertising because what's the point when you won't be able to meet the higher demand.  So I believe this holiday the % will be higher.

Nope, football events occur in even years, those that are in the year multiple of 4 (i.e. 2016= 4*504) are the world Championships, the others are the European Championships

As far as I've seen the only thing they mention not being in the Switch version seems to be the campaign that most of the players don't care about now that they've tried it in 17, also it's yet to be seen how sub par the Switch version will be...

The Confederation cup is in a few weeks, though it shouldn't affect FIFA 18 sales at all. Flilix is right, FIFA 18 would need a miracle to outsell FIFA 17.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Honestly doubt it will have much of an impact since Legends/Icons are not exclusive. In the end people will buy the game on whatever platform their friends are so they can play together.
