How is asking for a favourite LGBT character in any way a form of whining? The OP is just a guy that wants to generate some interesting discussion with a subject that he can relate to. And you say that you support equality. Well guess what? The LGBT community does not have equal treatment, compared to heterosexuals. Avoiding the discussion of it all together is not going to improve the situation. I get the feeling that you merely said that in a way to justify your absurd argument by saying "oh I'm not homophobic/transphobic, I support equal rights and treatment!"

Maybe not where you live...

Honeslt, I couldn't care less. Maybe I'm just the one who dreams of living in a world where anyone can be what thery like, live how they like, be happy the way they like and not have to constantly shout out what they are or what they do in their private life just to get 2 or 3 pats in the back and a label of "brave"...

If you couldn't care less, then why are you raising a stink here? Just move on. People want this discussion, apparently, so why pitch a fit when no one is forcing you to be apart of it?

And FYI, my referring to the "Favorite Male/Female in Video Games" had nothing to do with sexuality. It was just pointing out that people have asked about other's favorites of something that's an exclusive quality of a particular group. Same as asking something like "Favorite blonde in video games"  or something of the like.  I didn't at ALL imply there was a stipulation on who was allowed to respond. I'm a female and I do certainly have favorite female characters, even if I'm not attracted to them. Projecting much?

Kanji from Persona 4. He wasn't a perfect character but it's not like we've had any good ones anyway.

I still don't get why not a single company (to my knowledge) has attempted making a good gay character.

Why would they? The audience only cares about the L and they better be hot.

True. But there are enough gay gamers who would buy a niche game. As in, it's a way for an indie game to stand out. The Last of Us also has a male gay character and that didn't hurt sales.

None. Because they are few, secondary or poor executed, yet some people insists that videogames have more than enought diversity on them already.

This reminded me. Because of the way the "Romance" mechanics are stipulated in Dragon's Dogma, your own character can be homosexual without you even realizing it until you find your loved one.

Tracer, but blizzard paired her with the wrong girl

That was just a one night stand, sure, but my character did fall in love with Curie and now they're a couple.  Curie is best.

Batman.

Vivian.

If it's not explicitly stated a female character is 100% straight... I choose to believe they're gay or bi. Unfortunately that would make the list too long.

Are you sure about that? I thought it was something to do with their affinity being maxed and talking to them last (when there's a bunch of them maxed out).
