Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo battles Apple for parts as Switch demand rises

Even the most optmistic sales forcast would represent less than 2% of WW smartphone and tablet sales.

It is also weird that we all know the Switch doesn´t have any bleading edge component or custom chip. So, why would they need to fight with Apple that builds their own chips?

This seems to be another PR stunt for Nintendo trying to keep the focus on the device, since, it preaty clear there is no rush or fever in the general public for the console.

Sure, there's no public fervor, but it's always sold out in the US and JPN.

Sales matter.

Wait... Doesn't Nintendo use a different Nand supplier than Apple? I thought apple used Samsung and some other company while Switch used Toshiba?

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus use Toshiba NAND I believe.

Nintendo should go elsewhere. They're not going to get priority over freaking Apple (neither would Sony or even MS), but there likely are other NAND suppliers.

Well Samsung is supposed to be their supplier for 2017 according to forbes article.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Did not expect apple to be one of the reasons for stock issues.
