Forums - Gaming - HELP NEEDED! About Brawl, Freeloaders and Regioncodes!

I just bought Super Smash Bros: Brawl @ my local gamestore in The Netherlands (Europe). I bought the American import-version (NTSC-region). Together with Brawl, i bought a freeloader. So i'd be able to play the game, for Europeans have a PAL-Wii.

With the freeloader disc came a 1-page manual which explained what to do... I followed the instructions... And when i popped-in my Brawl-disc it said it couldn read it (i think because of the regioncodes but my Freeloader was supposed to go around them)... The Freeloader-manual said that you'd see the screen 'fade' 2 times and then you could pop-in the game-disc. The Wii did exactly like they said it would but when i popped in Brawl it wouldn't read it!

I tried like 100-times. Only 1 time it said there was an 'update' for my Wii-system (coming from the Brawl-disc, because i had no internet on at that time)... But still, it didn't boot-up the game!

Can someone Please help me with this problem! Or give advise! The game isn't coming out yet for 3 months here in Europe and i'd be very, VERY grateful if someone manages to give the answers to this riddle! Then i can finally play Brawl!

Thanks in advance, StarcraftManiac.

This might not help you out in the matter but here's what I think.

How about instead of breaking the rules and such, just be patient and wait like every body else OR buy an American Wii.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Have you updated your firmware lately? Maybe the freeloader is already blocked.

By the way, I wonder what happens when a US game updates a PAL Wii... Wouldn't surprise me if the result was a bricked Wii.

Exactly, updating with a NTSC game would result in a brick.

I'd suggest you go to gbatemp.net for more help.

LAWL if it breaks. You shouldn't break the rules.

Maybe you have the dirty lense problem?

I fail to see how using a import game is breaking the rules, the guy still paid for the game and everything even if it wasnt nintendos intendo that it be used on a PAL wii

Id suggest contacting the freeloader vendor if they have any technical support and find out, maybe you need a newer freeloader version or something

I checked, i have Firmware 3.1E (The same as 3.1)... Brawl will still work with 3.2E (3.2) so i'm fine on the update side!

I checked movies on Youtube... And it said you were to get an update... I got that! And i did that, my Wii rebooted... And then nothing... After i put in my freeloader again and my Brawl disc it would say 'couldn't read the disc'... So it doesn't work as of now... Can someone help me make it work?!...

And for the people who are whining about how i shouldn't 'Cheat' by buying an import with a freeloader! Go fuck yourself! It's not you guys who have to wait for like half a year until NoE thinks it's time to release Brawl... 6 months is long! And Brawl is the only reason i haven't sold my Wii! And i still payed 60 euro's for the game... So Nintendo still made money on me! Does that make you happy?!

I agree with StarcraftManiac. Brawl is kept from us for such an abnormally long time, I wouldn't blame anyone if they resorted to 'illegal' means such as freeloading. And although it may not be entirely legal, it's not that bad - you still pay for the game, so Nintendo doesn't really lose any money because of your behaviour. The Freeloader does suck though - anything that requires your Wii to just 'blur out' is malafide IMO.
@ StarcraftManiac: It doesn't look like this will be easily solved, but I see you are still trying... good luck!
