Forums - PC - Is this a good laptop?

The prices have gone down because Asus are going to bring out their new range soon.

The 9300 whipes the floor with the 2600 pro, it is equivalent to the 8400 gt.

The laptop has been selling like crazy, so you should call them up, try the Sunshine store, where the most stock is.

What kind of graphics could I get out of an 8400?

IS it possible to upgrade the graphics chip at a later date?

IS there any warranty?

Warrenty is on Asus's end, not ours, but i'm 99 percent sure that you will get manufacturer's warrenty with it.

A 8400 should run latest games, now at high, but at low - medium.

And no, most laptop cards are built onto the motherboards thus making it impossible to update graphic cards.

You should call up Asus and ask though, i usually only work with Laptop memory and Desktops.

That proves that on average, an 8500GT (which is a better card than 8400GT and therefore the 9300) loses heavily to a 2600PRO. That laptop has weak graphics, so that's why it's that cost. Between those two, the 2600PRO one gets better performance.

Please, please don't get the 8400 one. It will suck.

Your looking at the Radeon HD 2600 PRO, they are completely different cards.

The one he is talking about is the Mobility Radeon HD 2600

He said in the first post that the card he is looking at is a "2600 pro". There is no such card for laptops, so I assume it's a desktop card. Look at the actual post - he said "pro".

I'll check the card tomorrow. Am I too understand that if it is a 2600Pro (especially a 2600Pro Mobility) then it is a decent card?

But that I still shouldn't purchase the system because it is running Vista on only 2gb Ram?

The Asus would be brilliant.

4 gig ram, Core 2 duo, plus s many extra's that the other Laptop doesn't have.

The Nvidia card and the ATi card seem to be pretty equal.

Why pay the same price for that other one when you could get double the features for the same price?

IT sounds like the Asus satisfy's every need I have except maybe the need to game. Do you have an example of a recent game the 9300 could run? Like Bioshock for example, what settings could it run Bioshock on?

I might give Asus a call tomorrow about their warranties.
