As said in the post you quoted, they are showcasing the game mechanics with a DS4, not a keyboard.
PS4 also comes before steam in the pic you just posted.

Didn't ever say the PS4 was the sole lead of the project... but the main platform, yes, it is.

Can you actually imagine playing guitar hero on the keyboard

Imagine playing a racing game with a mouse.

Coming before or after doesn't specifically call one a lead over the other. When you actually mention it in public, then it becomes obvious.

What does that have to do with anything? That is a shallow as fuck reason. It would ony make since if thos IP's were actually being used. They're not; not only are they not, it was a deliberate choice as to avoid being tied/noticed to just that fanbase. If they wanted to create something that was geared towards PS fans dont you think they would have just done "not Parappa the Raper" or "not Guitarooman"? The game is targeting Rythmn game fans with the ultimate goal being creating the next generation rythmn/music. PS4 was choosen because of its market penetration. If want to prove that rythmn/music still have a place on home consoles to publishers (as they state) you'd wanna pickk the console with biggest reach.

It have to do with the people that bought those games they made before were people with PlayStations, they were the ones that played those games, that's why they are the target audience for this new one.
I'm not even saying it'll do better on PS4 than any other platform, just that they know the people they are appealing to with this project.

You are not making any sense. They are not riding on the tails of old IP's to boost to gan attention like Mighty Number 9, and Bloodstained. They specifically say that. So how can this be geared towards PS fans/parappa/guitaroo when said games aren't even the inspiration for the current project? They are using this proect to redefine the console rythmn/music game. This isnt about a particular fanbase. Its bigger than that. Its about restoring and cementing a genre.

BraLoD, you may as well just walk away before this back and forth goes on for 10+ pages.

I can imagine playing anything with a keyboard, as all kinds of games can be played on keyboards/mouse, as they are. I don't even see the point of those questions to be honest, what were they supposed to mean? That with a DS4 is a better way to play games? That I can't play this game without a controller?

Not, but I made mention of those questions because both inputs are good at playing different games, not that DS4 is a "better way to play games". PC makes use of DS4, X1 and all other gamepads it is able to make use of.

Of course they are, it's literally the first thing they say on the project page, about what the developers made before that lead to that and how experienced they are with it because of those games.

"An explosive mix of Japanese folklore and traditional artwork, hip hop and humorous battle rap face-offs inspired by the Epic Rap Battles Of History YouTube series, Project Rap Rabbit (working title) is the next major game from the creators of PaRappa The RapperVib-RibbonOsu! Tatakae! Ouendan and Gitaroo Man."

And then

"
With a combined 54 years of development shared between studios NanaOn-Sha and iNiS J, we’ve had plenty of time to master the art of rhythm-action. And it’s all been building to this: Project Rap Rabbit’s unique rapping gameplay represents the culmination of our experience across the genre’s biggest and best hits, and a true evolution of rhythm-action mechanics."

Of course they are riding into those IPs, they mention them asap and then later how experienced they are because of them, and then how much they were able to perfect the "genre" because of those games.

This is a Kick Starter. Your selling a project you want somebody else to fund. You had better show credentials. That is exactly what is; credentials. Showing you their experience and why you should trust them. I'm not saying that the experience/mechanics/styles from past will not be utilized. Of course it will, but to chalk this project up to "for PS/Gitaroo/Parappa fans" when they have clearly taken steps to NOT be defined  as just another spiritual succcessor is ridiculous. Read the KS in full. When explain the project its not" look how much  were going to emulate MegaMan/Castlevania but not be" (like all spiritual successor/fan geared project) They sell it without riding on past IP"s all the way through. This is for fans of Rythmn/music games not geared toward any platform/ established base

A new message on the Kickstarter

"Somebody’s ripped down our Stretch Goals scroll! (Spoiler: it was us.)

Firstly – Another huge, huge thank you to everybody who’s backed, shared, liked, commented or even simply looked at Project Rap Rabbit so far. We’ve been blown away by the response since we first unveiled Project Rap Rabbit four days ago. Over the last 24 hours we’ve been taking the time to digest all your comments, wishes and feedback, and one request stands out above all others: a significantly lower Nintendo Switch goal.

We want to let you know that we hear you loud and clear. As a result, we are busy re-examining our Stretch Goal format to prioritise a Nintendo Switch version of Project Rap Rabbit above other features.

This is a process we need to undertake carefully and methodically, so please bear with us while we piece together our new plan. We’ll update our Stretch Goals as soon as we possibly can – until then, keep the comments flooding in on social media and here on the Kickstarter page, and we’ll continue to answer all your questions."

So they are listening to our concerns at least.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

That's exactly what I was talking about...

You clearly were not.

You are clearing linking this project to PS based on nothing but the platform for the developers past works. This is a passion project. Not a successor project. They're not using their credentials  for curtailing, They're using their credentials as a show of experience. If they were making a platformer, they'd still list their credentials.

Looks like they've made a wise decision:

I'm linking it to PS based on the PS games they mention when talking about the devs.
Which clearly shows were their audience was and that they know it and trying to appeal for it and boost interest on the project, just like a Hideo Kojima game has "a Hideo Kojima game" on it, because that helps boosting interest.

They got their audience on PS and they are selling it to that audience, that's why they mention it, to make people that played those games and thus had a PS know about it and help them.

Bra

THERE NOT SELLING THIS ON THE BASIS OF BEING A REVIVAL/SUCCESSOR/EXTENSION TO PREVIOS WORKS. When Hideo Kojima tags his game's he does does that specifically to "call his fanbase". That is not what is going on here. These guys have a grandiose idea and they need a grandiose amout of money for a project in niche genre. They want to prove to you that your in good hands in you fund them. The games choosen are their claims to fame; What they are most popular for. For Parappa te Rapper creator, all rythmn games he has worked on were on PS. Guitarooman designer has Elite Beat Agents and Lips listed as well (not PS) They're not purposely choosing their PS dude.

What audience? Both of these guys have not done anything for PS for over 10. Most of their recent games are on Nintedo consoles. That audience?
