Perhaps, though there has been word from various devs on how rather easy it is to port things to the Switch, and I feel there is more potential to be had on the Switch than XBO.

While it may be easy to port to the Switch, does that mean it is both easier and cheaper to do so than porting to the X1? Considering devs never mention this part I am going to assume it's not.

Likewise, game development is basically being paid for from the KS, so potential isn't really the driving force here. Whatever other expenses that need to be covered will easily be covered by PS4/ PC sales if the game is good. A portable version would of course will be nice to have.

It was confirmed various times that Devkits for Switch cost less than PS4 and X1 devkits.

The way I see it, it's not a matter of 'which is easier to port to', but 'which one is more worthwhile to port to'. Although which console would be cheaper to port to, well, I don't know.

More worthwhile because? We see JPN devs making PS4 games that are exclusive in JPN but with an X1 version for the West. Both hardware are similar enough.

With the game as niche as it is (genre and fanbase) I dont think a switch version ends up being more worthwhile. What is more worthwhile is hitting your largest userbases, which happen to be PS4 or PC >>> X1 >>> Switch.

But I dont see the X1 version even being made. That stretch goal is ridiculous (even if it was X1 and Switch combined for that goal).

I look at it that way because at this rate, the game won't be able to reach all available consoles, so going with a option with more potential sales seems like a better move to go with, and Switch seems like the better one to go in the long run. Larger install bases doesn't always mean more sales. What matters more is if that audience is there in that base.

I just noticed that the edition version of the game they are selling includes the PS4 version, so where is the PC edition of those options?.

What makes Switch the option for more potential sales?

What do we know suggests that the Switch userbase will be more inclined towards a game geared towards PS owners, more so than the X1 ?

What?. How is this game geared towards PS fans? How many rythmn games did the DS have? The Designer of Elite Beat Agents is on this; series the popularized the rythmn game. Rythmn/music games are much more recognized on Nintendo harddware than they ever been PS.

Well, the game's presentation looks like one that would fit well on the system as well as something owners would be interested in, and Nintendo has had its fair share of rhythm style games on their systems, so it seems like a good fit. There would also be a bigger potential audience in Japan for the Switch, since the XBO pretty much lacks any presence there.

It's a joint project between Parappa and Vib-Ribbon guys, both PS1 games, that's how it's geared towards PS and why PS4 is the main platform it was announced to, to being with (they even use the DS4 to showcase the game mechanics in the kickstarter page).

I just see:

I was skimming through their KS page and didn't see mention of PS4 being the sole lead of the project.

Switch is the hottest platform right now in Japan, the country where rythm games are played the most, adding to that that the game will be based off Japan itself it's easy to think that Switch would make for a more suitable platform.

What does that have to do with anything? That is a shallow as fuck reason. It would ony make since if thos IP's were actually being used. They're not; not only are they not, it was a deliberate choice as to avoid being tied/noticed to just that fanbase. If they wanted to create something that was geared towards PS fans dont you think they would have just done "not Parappa the Raper" or "not Guitarooman"? The game is targeting Rythmn game fans with the ultimate goal being creating the next generation rythmn/music. PS4 was choosen because of its market penetration. If want to prove that rythmn/music still have a place on home consoles to publishers (as they state) you'd wanna pickk the console with biggest reach.
