During Electronic Arts’ quarterly conference call for investors and analysts, Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen provided the company’s estimate for the installed base of current generation consoles by the end of the year.

According to Jorgensen, Electronic Arts expects sales of current generation consoles to continue to be strong, reaching 105 million units combined by the end of calendar year 2017, up from 79 million units combined at the end of 2016.

Later in the call, CEO Andrew Wilson clarified that the forecast does not include the Nintendo Switch, mentioning that whatever numbers Nintendo will manage to sells, they will be additive to this estimate.

Jorgensen also mentioned that Electronic Arts expects PC gaming to decline slightly, and mobile to grow during the current year.

Wow super data was right about xbox one 26m as of 2016 ( albeit super data gave 55m sell-through for PS4 sony while sony had already reported 53.4m lol )...

Previous report  was 55m as of 2015, 35.9 PS4 vs 19.1 Xboxone...Xbox one sold  6.5m in its third year...? Oh...

It's funny how they expect a decline, but don't specify as to why.

Weren't there last predictions estimated 19m for xbox one last year. So they expected the XB1 to sell 6m last year which seems a bit to low since it sold 4.7m in the US last year so that would old leave 1.3m for everywhere else.

I think they are underestimating a bit...

So xb1 is still at less than 30m by now.

Unlucky MS... EA is giving us what you conceal, or more right, EA gives us the aggregate of MS/SONY home consoles sales every year and we infer xbox LTD sales by substracting the sell-through of PS4 provided by sony themshelves!


So nothing can stay hidden...
PSV sales or rather shipments are known too by estimation from the Japanese company that holds TGC and JVGA and is  the biggest of core and non core video game market expert/analyst, albeit not as official from a company like EA.

Vgchartz has xbox at 28m. Are you saying it was 2.4m over tracked? 

I think we made an agreement to stop talking to each other and I asked a mod for that!

Me, saying that? EA and Sony... Actually 2m, because EA may use rounded numbers  i.e 53m PS4, so 26m xbox one!

( The overwhelming  majority of  surplus is from 2016, which means that vgc only failed in 2016, something way sad given how accurate the tracking was before, but such mistakes are expected, when you hardly ever have official sales reports )
