If you say anything positive about Xbox, you get a downvote. If you say anything negative about sony, you get a downvote. In essence, this site and community has an extreme bias.

Like a lot of things, it's a good system in theory but in practice it turns out that crappy people ruin it.

This is one of the reasons I rarely comment on Reddit--and if I *do* comment, I reply to the mediocre pun or stating-the-obvious response that has the most up-votes, even if my comment has nothing to do with it.

I spend my down-votes on things that should never have been up-voted in the first place. I see myself as the balancing force between chaos and order.

Be a supporter, where your upvotes and downvotes count for more :p

But it is one of the reasons why I don't think having a voting system for the forums itself is a good idea
