It doesnt surprise me that Nintendo would start shipping more Wii's to the US. Heck, if you look at the numbers, in Japan if they cant buy a Wii, they will just buy another console, sorry, I mean, They will just buy a DS. Also since Japan is doing very well for them (some would say in the bag), its time to focus on getting more Wii's into America.

Isamu, I agree somewhat. The Wii tier ratios are better in the US = more money for Nintendo, and Japan is virtually a lock for the Wii. HOWEVER, I would just LOVE to see a week during summer that has "Wii: 557,332 units sold in one week" just to curb demand. Why? I just wonder exactly where true demand is for the Wii. Is it at 130k a week? 200k? 500k? How long could it sustain major sales if there were magically 1 million more wiis per week in Japan?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Great to see both Ouendan 2 and Odin Sphere on there as they are definitely the best games of this month...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I'm going to laugh hysterically at Larry if Forza pushes the 360 over the PS3, even if it's only for one week.

 Not gonna happen, sorry bud....

There is really only 6,000 systems seperating the two systems right now and even a very minor game release can boost system sales by that much. Certainly, I wouldn't expect the XBox 360 to surpass the PS3 for long but at current sales rates there are several games comming out for the XBox 360 in Japan which could push system sales past 10,000 units for at least a week; in the same timeframe there are no game releases for the PS3 so sales could drop to 5,000 units a week.

Sales for Odin & Shining both disappointing. Both in the most-wanted, and both on a platform with install base of 17m. I think this denotes the real slide of the PS2 from the market...

Gesta Non Verba

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

PS2's been declining rapidly in Japan since the DSLite took over last year.

My prediction:

Trusty Bell will be the one to push the 360 past the PS3 for at least a week.
