PS4 has more games this year, that's for sure, I'd be worried about it if that wasn't the case. The important thing is what you are left with when you depure those lists to fit your taste, in my case and taking away games I can play in other consoles I already own it would be something like this:

PS4:
Nier Automata
Ni-Oh
Gravity Rush 2
Tales of Berseria
Tekken 7
Final Fantasy XII HD Remaster
Dragon Quest IX (japan)

Switch:
Super Bomberman R
Arms
Splatoon 2
Mario Odyssey
Dragon Quest XI (japan)

3DS:
Dragon Quest VIII
Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Monster Hunter Stories
Ever Oasis
Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and The Millionaires’ Conspiracy
Miitopia
Culdcept Revolt
RPG Maker FES
The Snack World: Trejarers
New Kirby title
Dragon Quest XI (japan)
The Aliance Alive (japan)
The Great Ace Attorney 2 (japan)
Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology (japan)
Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey (japan)

Well, well, would you look at that, such an unexpected result..

Wow! Going by your 100% accurate list that I'm sure didn't miss out a single notable title shows that the PS4's line-up sucks compared to all those 3DS games you managed to list there. Well I think it's pretty obvious that 3DS will be selling more than double the number's of PS4 this year since your list is telling me that the 3DS is getting double the amount of games for PS4 this year!

There is no need to react like that, I clearly said in my first paragraph that I was going to include in my list only the games I care about. Looking at it again, I did miss Ys VIII and Trails of Cold Steel III (japan) in the PS4 one. Of course you can conclude after reading it that I'd be more prone to buy the New 2DS XL than a PS4 or Switch in 2017, but I never implied that the same should apply to the rest of the world.

Good enough for me and the Switch hasn't even had an E3 yet.

I dont think the OP counts old ports of games from systems like the NeoGeo (system from 1990), alot of those games are/have been playable other places for along time.

Theres really no reason to pad a list with games that are "20-27" years old.

It doesnt make the Switch seem more appealing.

I think you are scared of Switch. And you know what? Your fear is justified.

haha I think RolStoppable is right about the OP. It's just bizarre to compare the software coming out on a just launched system with the leading console of the generation which is having an amazing year for software. Not to mention the first quarter comparison when Switch was only out for a month, and the second quarter while not even listing Mario Kart which is the biggest game of Nintendo's 2017 second quarter haha. And it is hard to imagine two of his friends bought a Switch only to sell it already...as though like they were unaware that the system just came out and will take time to get more software hahaah

Why did you just put old ports into one with the Switch, while giving Kingdom Hearts Collection, Wipeout Collection and FFXII separately?

I think we all know the answer

Oh, and it never really makes sense to compare the line-up of a Nintendo system to a PlayStation system or really any other system for that matter because Nintendo has such a specific fanbase.

A system could get 100 90+ scoring games a year and it wouldn't matter because they aren't Nintendo games. Which isn't a dig, mind you, it's just that hardcore Nintendo fans like a very specific type of game.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It may not be a dig but is pretty wrong anyways, specially since you are suggestiong only Nintendo hardcore fans will buy the switch, which couldn't be further from the truth

Well Nintendo won't reach a bigger audience but they will do better than WiiU. Also this is PS4's prime year or one of them. Switch is in its infancy. Compare 2014 PS4 to be more fair.

You're right. You play only japanese games, is that right :) ? I know that more developers / publisher support the PS4. The good thing is, the switch is in her first year - It can only get better for me with the Switch someday. I expect many new announcements for both consoles. But as the other user already said ... the lifetime is short for all games :) When I was young, I wasted my time with mini&small games. Today I only buy AAA-games or games with strong quality and effort. Because life does not go infinitely :) Its a personally opinion. You know...because you like Japanese games - I think - a great story with gameplay is important to you. For me too incl. Interesting characters. Thanks for your thoughts :) And DQ XI in japan for switch coming later, right? Otherwise, I would have noted it for summer (Switch). I hope Tekken 7 has such a great story as Tekken 4 and 5 :) Is the chance big ? i saw the first trailer and think yes.
