Alot of people seem to think " Oh after the price drop X console is going to outsell Y console". I don't really think a price drop would matter as much to make a console sell close to what people believe. Yes price is one factor, but there are other things people consider when they make a purchase. These people are just like me , and you , and want to find something that they want no matter the price. So how much would a price drop help said X console.

Please don't bring consoles into it, make a generic name such as X console to tell how a price drop would affect it. Give it a random price, and tell how it would help with a price drop, of any magnitude. I don't want to see the words "Wii" "PS3" or " 360". Do not respond to my question unless you could support your statement with details. Thank You

price drops really depend on what the difference is.

PSP's and DS's price drops early in life didn't do anything. Both of their redesigns did a whole lot more.

Whereas PS3's $100 drop did a lot in EU/NA. Mainly because it is finally putting the PS3 in an acceptable price range for a game console.

Most of the time price drops only have a short term affect on sales.

OT: yeah, it depends on the amount of the price drop + if it is used near a big release

 I don't know why. People want to talk about it any other time, but when a thread is made for it nobody says anything. I'm about to go play metroid , because the forums are really slow right now. 

Nobody wants to talk about it because you said not to use the console's names.
