I wish authors that create canons for both movies and videogames were a lot less obsessive-compulsive and pernickety and left more details untold, this way they could add non-canon characters and sidequests or secondary stories more easily and without becoming awkward, convoluted and pedantic like George Lucas in the darn trilogy of prequels.
About a specific character, yes, I think too that Birdo could be the main character of quite funny games. And the predictable fury of teo-con parents associations would just add more fun.
