If somebody has those feelings, they're probably going to act a certain way based on them, even if it's subconsciously done.

So what? People are so touchy these days. So a woman calls me a a manpig or whatever...ok, so I call her a bitch and move on with my life.
Whats next, people have to like dogs? Everyone has to like chocolate to not offend the candybar makers?

A dislike of a whole sex is irrational. Women are not some organized collective, they're individual people with individual personalities.

It is irrational. So is fear of clowns.

So, what are you trying to argue here? We should try to help people overcome their fear of clowns, too.
Define tolerance. Should we force people to believe something or abandon something? No. Should beliefs or thoughts be put under scrutiny and held to standards? Yes.
Too often I've seen people hide ignorance or bigotry behind, "Well, that's just what I believe!" and entrench when challenge. Those people may be lost, but the climate of society allows those ideas to be easily passed to the next generation.
This is why the media matters and why it fails so miserably these days. All views are treated with equal merit regardless of evidence overwhelmingly favoring one side or the other. We thrive on conflict and spectacle rather than improving our understanding of issues.

Well if they want help, then they should go see a psychologist.

There's some problems with that.
1. Not everyone can afford to go to one
2. Some people may be ashamed of their fears, and they may need a little encouragement and help in order to become motivated enough to follow through.

If they cant afford to go to a psychologist, then maybe their hate for the opposite sex or fear of clowns is the least of their problems. They are the ones that think that way. Why should I help them? I can suggest they go get help, but thats pretty much it.
