Forums - Gaming - Infuriatingly Hard Bosses?

To me, a good boss is a boss where, if you figure out how to beat them and you have to tools, you can win. A bad boss (or should I say frustrating) is a boss where you know what to do and the game won't let you do it. Or the weakness is so obscure, nobody could figure it out. Or it just doesn't play by the rules.

Yep. I'm not a big fan of incongruous difficulty spikes, but as long as it's fair, a tough boss can be a great aspect of a game.

The final boss of Beyond good and evil was frustrating as he keeps reversing your controls as one of his attacks. I gave up on the final boss in Heavenly sword, didn't know what I was supposed to do, never got back to it.

Not a boss fight yet the turret defense sections in Jak 2 and Jak 3 were really hard to me, screw analog aiming.

I once accidentally let the Ottomans expand to the point where they literally had a 250k standing army in Europa Universalis IV. They were also allied to France, who had managed to swallow most of Iberia.

Now that's the hardest final boss I've faced, apart from maybe Yuyuko Saigyouji.

This man knows the meaning of pain, second to that is when I've seen Ottomans and Russia become best buds. Anyways, Mushihimesama is pretty brutal overall but the final boss is just something else.

I found Kalameet from Dark Souls to be the hardest boss by far, really easy to mess up in that fight.

Second stage of the Ares fight from the first God of War. Even on hard I found it pretty difficult, god mode is ridiculous, at least till you think about a good strategy to beat it. Took me more than an hour the first time

The one in BG&E was rough! I wound up turning the controller upside down. It worked!

Primagen Turok 2

Tantarian Final Fantas IX

The Old Gent single player in Dungeon Siege III

Maybe just me but SP Earth Defense Force 4.1 final final boss.

Shao Kham MK9

Synn SP Dungeons & Dragons Mystara.

Ancient Dragon Dragon's Crown

Alma Ninja Gaiden (mainly as you just had a boss fight and kinda fucked)

ANY Tyrant lvl 70 and above in Xenoblade Chronicles X

Armstrong Metal Gear Rising

Father Rodin (secret boss) Bayonetta

I will end on a more broad note. Just ANYTHING in Gaiares on SEGA Genesis. Bullet Hell game are easier I swear.

Spoilers D:

Bosses in Radiant Historia are really tough, but I guess the game is pretty difficult overall :p

Yes! That was the only way to get through, yet don't wind up the cord going back and forth lol.

I guess I should add the boss at the end of Uncharted 2, painful fight. I used the cheap way in the end, stand in the one spot he can't get you. Raam at the end of Gears of War was a nice fellow compared to that.

And a quick shootout to the capra demon, cheap bastard. Wait for loading to finish to get through the mist door, greeted by another loading screen back to the bonfire. What just happened...
