Is switch getting the ps4 version? Sony probably paid square to keep it exclusive and have square to port the 3ds version to switch instead.

No sign of the Switch version yet? Will it even release alongside the other versions?

Apparently the WSJ guy Mochizuki asked Enix about the Switch version, they said they can't talk about it, and they can't say if it will launch on the same day as the other versions.

Mochizuki asked about the Switch version. The reply: "It is still planned but no announcements today. Whether it launches together on the same day as PS4 and 3DS or not we cannot say today".

To me that's a positive, because it means there's still a chance the Switch version is launching with the others and they can't talk about it until a Nintendo event (perhaps even the Direct tomorrow). If it wasn't in the cards at all I'd have to think they'd just have said no to this question.

Honestly I'm hyped as fuck. Have been since the very first reveal. Any word on a US release time frame/special edition for PS4?

Sony cant pay Square and tell them what version they need to port, Square can post whatever version they want or make totally new version. Saying that, Switch with its hardware and tech is much closer to PS4 version than its to 3DS version, we already saw few SQ PS4/Switch games (I Am Setsuna and DQ Heores 1-2) that look quite similar.

Based on what we have seen and heard with regards to Unreal Engine 4's support for Switch, I am willing to bet it will be the UE4 based version, just scaled back.  It's more a question of the quality of the port I think.

It's slowly becoming the standard, though.
