I hope we get some more footage of Xenoblade 2 and maybe if we are lucky -- Pokemon Stars.

I'm willing to bet that there will be some time taken up by the localizations on both the 3DS and Switch, on the NA and EU directs. So, in order to fill that time up, Nintendo of Japan will focus on new game releases (much more exciting).
Then again, they might just focus on confirmed releases like Snack World...

Assuming this is a half-hour Direct, then Splatoon and ARMS should take up three-fourths of the Direct. The rest will be a showcase for the Switch and its upcoming lineup (reminders of, say, Disgaea 5 Complete releasing or a multitude of indies), and localizations for the 3DS (Miitopia? pretty much anything from Atlus?)

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:3

More info and footage about Splatoon 2 is enough for people in Japan to have an orgasm!

They need to reveal all the major stuff in Arms in this one!

I am hoping for new characters for FE Warriors while the FE Heroes userbase is still quite high up.

Don't really care of any of the 3DS games that is coming (not planning to get Echoes and Pikmin 3 now)

Maybe more info on Zelda DLC.

With E3 only 2 months away, I highly doubt we'll see those two.

Here's hoping that Arms makes it out in May. They're really stretching that "Spring" window. Any later than July for Splatoon 2 is asking for unnecessary hardship for the Switch.

Hardly this could be compared, that Wii U January ND was probably strongest ever ND,if I recall that ND was considered for panic ND because Wii U start doing bad and they even announced and showed some game that were few years away from launch.

This Switch ND is just 2 months before E3 and definitely we will not have big news.

i remember that direct sold me a wii u.
nothing will compare to that.

I mean, it's an odd comparison. The Wii U launched with little in the way of heavy hitters already announced and no big heavy hitter at launch. The Switch launched with Breath of the Wild and the January event announced a number of heavy hitters and big exclusives slated for this year. And the Switch is doing well while the Wii U was flagging.

Looking at that Wii U list, you have two titles that didn't release till 2016, and several other titles that were 2014 or 2015 releases for Wii U. This Direct is Switch and 3DS, and will primarily focus on Arms 2 and Splatoon, so I wouldn't expect any longer-term announcements as we got with that Wii U broadcast.

I'd expect:
- Release dates for Arms and Splatoon 2, ideally May/June
- Fire Emblem Echoes
- Indie reel/release dates for April/May/June
- Maybe Virtual Console
- Maybe Smash Bros for Switch, with amiibo news (Bayonetta etc)
