It's still an "attack" on a new console. They are clearly saying they have little interest in it, when Microsoft is trying to create hype. Show some confrontational stance I think.

They were asked if they prioritize any new console. I don't see that as an attack because every company will prioritize some system over others.

If you ask Atlus if they prioritize any system and they said Nintendo DS, is that an attack on Playstation 4?

Depends on the timing. This moment, no, if they said it when the PS4 was launching, or when Sony make their official presentation and was trying to gather support, it may be, yes.

So SE should take their japan focused games library and invest millions on an xbox platform bringing their japan focused games over the most western focused platform of the big three?

That would not be avoiding inciting a "war"; it will flat out be the most stupid business decision they could make.

well there is a lot of passion towards the switch, and thats what truly matters for square enix, passion.

Pretty sure they value money way over passion. That's why they made FFXV instead of a Final Fantasy game.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

The OP makes a strange assumption that anyone would really care about
-Scorpio
-Square Enix

Basically them saying how they priorise, is like stating the sky is blue.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

"Attack on a new console"

What new console? The Switch is the only new console.

It's a way of speaking offcourse. I meant that while Microsoft is pushing a new gun to try and gain ground against the PS4's advantage, big players like Square Enix are not helping by saying they will be prioritizing other players on the market instead of them, or at least saying they will be looking at all consoles equally.

That, to my understanding, may generate some bitterness.

Does Microsoft needs SquareEnix help?

almost all of Square Enix's big franchises are RPGs.... RPGS almost universally sell the best on handhelds... the last few generations Square has probably massively sold the most software on the DS + 3DS.

Its not rocket science. Square can probably release random remasters of old RPGs on the Switch in Japan (or maybe even abroad) that will sell like hotcakes without much work.

I just hope they put some effort in to give the Switch some worldwide exclusives. I think Project Octopath Traveler is supposed to be exlusive, and that looks to have a pretty artstyle, but certainly doesn't appear to be a particularly big game

For japanese games is up to Microsoft to convince developers and publisher.

On the other hand I doubt the Switch Will get: Tombo Raider, Deus Ex, Hitman, etc...

They're a Japanese Studio and Xbox one sells -6 per day in Japan

They could hand them out on the street in Japan and most people would probably just walk by.

That really doesn't matter. Xbox doesn't need SE to sell. Xbox relies on the CoD/FIFA/GTA crowd (with some help from the few Xbox exclusives). Square could have decided not to release a single game on Xbox One this gen and it would still be close to 30 million sold.
