Forums - Gaming - Criterion to "transform" Burnout Paradise

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=186123

Criterion says that three updates it has in the works will "transform Paradise over the coming year."

These updates will be so significant, Criterion says, that giving them the usual numbered names just isn't enough.

"You may have noticed us referring to our future new content by codenames. Just to clarify - you'll see them in this order 'Cagney', then 'Davis' and then 'Eastwood'," teases Criterion.

It goes on to boast: "What we're working on now goes way beyond conventional content updates, so we figured the usual 1.1, 1.2 version numbers didn't do it justice.

"We will TRANSFORM Paradise over the coming year," it adds promisingly, saying that it plans to reveal all as soon as possible.

"We want to tell you what we're making and why. We want to know what you think and you better believe we're listening to what you have to say," reads the official site.

Exciting, isn't it? You may have smashed through all the billboards and unlocked every car, but don't swap your Burnout Paradise disc just yet.

I wonder if this is what MS meant about watching out for games getting lots od DL this year.  I know Army of Two is also getting some while Mass Effect recently got some and cod4 is out today with Halo 3 coming out shortly.  There is Two worlds expansion and Puzzle Quest expansion.  As long as they are brand new content not already on the disk I think is well worth especially if it is one of your favorite games. So far I bought the Mass Effect DL and it took me a nice 2 and a half hours to beat which was well worth the 5 bucks.

Well if they are significant then that is good news for BP owners, maybe new areas or new classes of viechles, maybe somehting much more. Sounds good either way, hope its not just PR and everyone ends up dissapointed.

They could just be hyping it up, as most companies do.

Burnout fans will be dissapointed if they don't live up to these claims.

If they add a quick restart to races, and splitscreen then count me in as a buyer.

^What HE said.

Damn, it's a shame EA doesn't make quality games otherwise this would be great news.

Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.

Transform significantly, seems odd, why make massive changes to a decent game anyway, unlless they were too lazy to put majour features in the release of the game.

Isn't the DLC going to be free (at least the map expansion).  While it may not meet expectations, it's kind of hard to be disappointed in something free.

CRASH MODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Won't buy it until they have CRASH MODE and Circuit racing, because that's why I played and loved Burnout originally. I appreciate the idea behind what they tried without the seamless world, but at what expense? It's not nearly as fun from my time with a rental copy. During open world races, you could literally never see another car. Showtime mode isn't nearly as fun as perfecting your crashes in crash mode.

i was dissappointed.
