Righto bud, these games are getting praise because theyre amazing to fans of their respective genres and this exposure leads to more sales which in turn benefits our favourite franchises. I for one would love for more people to enjoy Persona.
I know what you mean. I had a tonne of praise for the witcher 3 when it released and made no secret of it on these forums. Do you blame me though? It's still awesome to this day.

Ah. As someone who enjoys both Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei, nothing pisses me off more than seeing their crossover turning into a fucking idol Persona knock-off. Fortunately, the battle system redeems everything else about the package, but it makes me wonder why they went down that path in the first place.

Yes! They are.
Tales of fans are especially insidious i found, always claiming the latest title to be a return to form when it never is. Burned me out of them and the series.
With that said, Persona 5 really is good. I say this because if you played persona 3 or 4, you know this is a quality series and why. Horizon, is alright but just another open world to the pile. The witcher can be seen as the same.
But yes, i think i even made some posts criticizing people who constantly go: This is the best ever! This is a master piece!
They are either constantly living the dream, are easily influenced or it's cognitive dissonance.

LMAO, this part is hilarious. What about the people who DDoS-ed Jim Sterling because of his review? It was in full effect with Zelda. Not to say others don't do it as well. The Last of Us comes to mind first. That was just insane back then.

People after posting a while, associate posting on the forum as to talking about something you like with your friends. Why you hate your friend talking about video games to their friends who likes video games.
