Well those games are pretty great so of course there is gonna be people recommending them... it happens with a lot of great games, The Witcher 3 got this a LOT back when it came out... heck i still see it to this day (i have a friend who wont shut up about it, not like it bothers me though).

For example, if you didn't tell me you were so hyped about Nier, I would never have tried the demo, because I wasn't.
Then I did and liked it, and decided I'll be getting it sometime down the road.

Just like a friend of mine did back in the day with Death Note, and I did for him with One Piece, which we both ended up loving after the other insisted so much.

Yep. i dont get bothered by stuff like this, this is exactly how i got interested in the Persona series.

It can be annoying, though I've only seen one or two users here that take it to an infuriating amount.

As a general rule, if you're advertising games in completely unrelated threads or forum sections, it's time to stop.

I do feel the same when someone oversells their game. It gets annoying when someone tells me 'certain game' is the best for various reasons, I should buy the console, and that console is the best. I like just hearing 'Yeah, this game is great! If you like 'certain kind of genre', try it if you can" Hype has ended up in me disliking a game before.

Yeah, I get tired of eharing the same corporate slogans being uttered over and over again, people trying to sell the console rather than just enjoying it and going about their business.

It's also a bit irksome to see some go "this isn't for you", as a means to deflect any kind of criticism used on said favorite game.

It is getting annoying to see the repetitive "how am I supposed to play all these games?!" humble brag topics. Topics about specific highly rated games (or just the most interesting new title for a gaming platform) is entirely natural, however. It would be nice if all topics about non-multiplats would moved from General to the appropriate Nintendo / Sony / Microsoft / PC Discussion.

Without this mentality I wouldn't have tried Horizon on a whim, and I ended up loving that game. I trust my friends most of all so doesn't bother me.

Back towards the launch of PS3 and 360 (Wii not so much), I started getting a sense that fanboys were shoving games down our throats that dont need them to. Now today with games like Horizen, Witcher 3, and recently Persona 5 it seems like everyone is saying "This is a masterpiece!! You must play now!" Hyping up a game that doesnt need it and arguably is better without it.. I enjoy Persona because they were games that recieved great reviews and had a humble, also niche, community. I never really experience this with Nintendo games, but Xbox and PS fans really want people to know they enjoy the game. Sure Zelda had some of this, but it also leads to discussion about the actual game, not just "This game is GOAT" "Yes Masterpiece", but instead keep the community.

I dont know if this makes any sense.

Are you joking?

The question is, what is your problem with people being excited about a game they like?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I just noticed that we also have two dupe threads going: "Worth The Wait? Why GT Sport Will Be The Best Driving Simulation Game Ever"

So there has never been a good driving sim before until now?.

Best and first good are two different things.
