It would be interesting to see a version of FF7 Remake on Switch. The engine is compatible. It's a matter of what needs to be done to scale it to the console, and if Nintendo has any other hardware revisions in the works with different or greater capabilities: Square would want to make adjustments to scale for those as well.

The Enix side of the company, it's pretty much open field, they can put everything on it. I would like to see Switch as the primary Dragon Quest platform, and Kingdom Hearts makes more sense on a Nintendo console too, since Sony fans hate kiddy stuff.

I can say as a KH fan that you don't know anything about this series nor its director to make an ignorant claim like that.

Disregard what I said if you were trolling because I literally laughed at your comment.

As for the OP: Yes, more DQ games on Switch. None on Xbox as expected.

I'm still surprised Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD Remix Collection didn't get a Switch release, especially when it only came out like a week and a half ago and would have been perfect for people looking for more Switch games to play. Kingdom Hearts games have been on Nintendo systems in the past as well.

Nomura: Why are you surprised when I'm not?

While Octopath Traveler looks nice (well, the little we've seen from it), I'm still hoping that the team is also making a Bravely Third for Switch.

There is a nice sweet spot with current tech and trends right now that Nintendo might be primed for with the Switch. It just makes development sense.

1) Unreal Engine 4 is already known and explored making for less development time.

2) Expanding development expectations with Scorpio tech might be much more costly than if given an alternative. What development team, if given the option, wants to spend years solely learning how to maximize extreme tech upgrades in hopes that enough consumers will want to purchase the one game to warrant the effort, when they can rehash known knowledge or tweak development processes slightly to push out 5 to 6 titles in a year, each offering the same return? Development times get longer and longer, requiring bigger teams and bigger companies to keep up, but the game prices still remain close to the same generation to generation, due to limits in consumer buy-in.

3) Heightening the potential of #2, portable gaming does not require such demanding development efforts to make an effective and enjoyable game experience that will still sell well.

4) There are plenty of existing games using the Unreal Engine which could be given a nice fresh spin on the Switch, netting a nice influx of funds and current game designs and ideas developed for this last gen could be milked even further.

5) The Switch is hitting a wave of popularity that is scary to the competition. The only contest to it trending is the crazy amount of quality titles that the PS4 is adding to the shelves at the moment. It would be a shame to miss that ship. When a console hits at the right time with the right amount of new for what consumers are willing to pay, it's gold for the next few years.
