Fantastic Four need a break after how poorly the have been represented.

They want FF movies, to keep failing with Fox. So eventually they just give up the rights. Through time or willingness. Fox is basically forced to make a another one. In I think another 5 years. Or the rights revert. Which will not work. They're forced to make another reboot. They're out of ways to retell that story. Unless they want to go the route of actually following the comic's origins, to the letter. That's the only way I see them even getting people to watch another reboot. |
Could Fox make a dirt cheap F4 movie like the old 1994 Corman one and still keep the rights or does it have to be big budget?

Wait so what about Dr. Doom!!!
Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

The Roger Corman version was great from a story standpoint.

It could be anything. It just has to be FF related. It can crash and burn. And be a total disrespect to the franchise. Still falls under in use. I really don't care who has the rights. I would want Marvel to get it it back. Since it would allow them to be used in all the other movie lines. But, I just want one that works 100%. Because right now. The first FF movie, is the only one that came close to decent.

And i think its fake Jean. I do blame a lot of the more ridiculous shit that has happened over the last decade on the licensing battle but I think Marvel and Fox are finally realizing that neither is going to budge on the licensing. |
So 40 years of not succeeding his own book and they think because of his sexuality, that's a good reason for him to have one? Iceman is good because of the X-men and the fact he was one of the few 'heroes' left in it. His (awful told) cming out won't help him sell books, especially if they focus on that. Iceman is great because he is Iceman, not a retconned gay character to add to their diversity list.

In both films and comics. Although I've not been reading the comics, Hickman screwed everything up last time I did and it's his dependence on the FF characters that did it. Doom included.

You'd think he'd be too big to ignore right?
Right thing is. all the FF characters are in Marvel Heroes 2016 because well, they are the FF. Doom is as well. So question is, are they in this? I'd presume so, it's just they might not be advertised as being there.
Hmm, pie.
F4 are just pop-culture nobodies now. Everybody hates what Fox has done to F4 so marvel basically has to starve F4 of all oxygen until Fox relinquishes them. Marvel isn't harming themselves by ignoring F4.
Fox has managed to do a decent enough job with X-Men (and a great job in some cases) that Marvel would be doing harm to its brand to leave the X-men out of things to which they still have the rights.

Yes and no. X-Men are included because of fan demand. The same thing goes in games like Marvel's Contest of Champions, X-Men is too popular with the 25-40 year old demographic and Marvel can't seem to find a way around that. As far as Fantastic Four goes they need to basically deal with it until something happens.
As far as X-Men, Fox, and Marvel goes.... The Marvel Comics and Television divsion are finally talking with Fox again. Things are starting to get more cooperative save the bitterness coming from Marvel Studios film division. Jeph Lobe was an executive producer for the TV show Legion and Marvel TV and comcs was very much involved with that show, it's not MCU but it's the closest thing we will likely get for a while. It's also one of the best TV shows I've ever seen and debatebly better than Daredevil. I highly recommend people check Legion out because it's mind blowing.
A REAL SPECTACLE

| axumblade said: I'm not sure what angle they are really planning on taking with the iceman comic but it's been speculated that he was gay for a long time. I'm hoping its a little bit of everything to be honest. Also, Fantastic Four is over as a series. the characters are supposedly being thrown all over the place but I haven't paid much attention cause to me Fantastic Four hasn't really been relevant in decades. |
The speculation was fans and jokes and Bendis turned it into a reality because he didn't know what to do with the character and he did it by the stupidest way possible (like he forgot he can write complex thought provoking stories... he didn't do one thing good for the X-men). But you can't build the book about him being gay because that alienates all the people who don't want that. Many have wanted a Iceman solo book for years and focusing on a side of him very few can relate to won't help sell books.
Thing was in Guardians of the Galaxy as that is the big thing (as indicated by this game trailer), Human Torch with Inhumans (as Disney decided that mutants aren't the way to go and they can fully licence Inhuman super heroes so they made loads of people Inhuman). The rest are rebuilding the multiverse apparently....which sounds like bullcrap but after Secret Wars, what do you expect, actual clever writing?
... man I sound cynical when discussing Marvel comics.
Hmm, pie.
I quit reading Marvel comics after Avengers vs X-Men. After reading this thread, I'm glad I did.
