Forums - Gaming - PSA: filter clickbait videos from Youtube reccomendations with this addon!!

I was getting annoyed by all the videos spoiling games and youtube recommending them to me and now that P5 spoilers started showing up it was time to do something about, so I installed Video Blocker to my Firefox.

Block those useless channels or certain keywords. I just did "boss fight" and those P5 videos disappeared.

I suggest adding

"boss fight"

"ending"

"death" etc

For Chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/video-blocker/jknkjnpcbbgcbdbaampbjlhkcghmgfhk

For Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/video-blocker/

For Opera https://addons.opera.com/extensions/details/video-blocker/

Seems like a really useful tool. I don't need it though since I only look at channels I subscribed to and they're very meticulous about spoilers.

But youtube still recommends videos from channels you didnt subscribe to. I only watched the P5 launch trailer and youtube recommended me a boss battle from the game, looking at the right of the screen or the recommendations on the frontpage can literally ruin games for you.

Google is changing so much about Youtube every other month but they dont want to fix the spoilers problem. It's like they're actively helping to get people spoiled. The P5 spoiler vids aren't even that huge yet with a few thousand views, it's crazy how google is handpicking them.

Nope. I watch my queued youtube videos in a watch list and in theatre mode, which means I literally do not see any other videos unless I scroll down which I have no need to. I also don't see end video recommendations because my queue is always too long to watch it in one sitting.

Google isn't actively helping anyone and it's impossible for google to filter all spoilers. People who want to spoil something will find a way to game the system.
