just out of intrest, does anyone know the figures for pre-orders on either console, that should be a good indicator?

I'm going to go with 11-12 million by the end of 2008.

Sales will probably go 65-35 in favour of the 360.

I think 13m is just in the middle of a good expectation.

I think it'll probably be about 65/35 in terms of where sales are (NA/PAL), with NA sales going to the X360 about 1.8/1 in favor of the 360, and about 1:1 in PAL, or maybe 1.1/0.9 in favor of the PS3.

Also, ioi does have some info about preorders for GTAIV.

Last I had heard (and this was before SSBB launched in the US, at 1.3m)...It was about 2 weeks before SSBB launched, and according to ioi (if I remember right), the 360 ALONE at that time, just in the US, had about 90% of the pre-orders for GTAIV that SSBB did, and the PS3 had about half of that. So both, more than a month away from launch, probably had just under 2 million pre-orders in the US alone.

Personnaly , I said the 31st of December 2007 : "GTA IV : 13 millions, SSBB 12 millions ; Wii Fit : 11 millions "

I think it's possible : the install base in the end of 2008 will be around 44 millions for PS3-360.

13 millions would say on person of 3.5 will buy GTA IV, and I think it's possible

Yeah, 13M is reasonable. Not sure what historical numbers people are looking at when they claim this isn't possible. GTA, folks. SA makes Halo 3, COD4, Brawl, etc., look like piddly little B games in terms of sales. Actually, I think it has sold roughly what those three games have done combined so far.

What is wrong with some of you, this is GTA how can you exepcet any less ? The fanboyism on here is sickening.

Just looking at COD4 sales, its shows what a quality game can do on 360/PS3 when neither version is gimped.
