Forums - Gaming - Cemu 1.7.4 - BoTW running damn near perfectly

We ve seen the videos of Breath of the Wild running on Cemu, where link is clipping into the ground... or where he doesnt do his swim animation but sinks to the ocean/lake floor instead. Lots of "bugs" like that in the older builds of Cemu.

That seems to be gone now in 1.7.4.

Check this video out:

Im amazed by how fast these guys with Cemu are working at getting this emulator up to the task of playing games.

What do you guys think? anyone looking forwards to playing BoTW in 4k?

I'd say we are a still a bit away from it being a fully stable experience, but it's impressive nonetheless. Zelda has put a lot of attention on CEMU.

Change title, 15-20fps is rubbish. Give it another year.

How many of us have gpus capable of handling 4K or tvs/monitors with 4K? Who are you talking to OP?

I'm more looking forward for a stable fps and the ability to use cheats so I can start with 20 hearts and not have to worry about weapon fragility.

It's definitely not perfect yet, but i highly doubt they'll need anything close to a year. They've gotten it from only showing the menu to almost fully functional at 10 - 20fps in 3~ weeks (the video in the OT is from 9 days ago).

Impressive. On a side note, is this by far by the advanced emulator for a console this powerful, or am I just being ignorant? I was kind of thinking how much more difficult it must be to develop a working emulator for modern hardware than it used to be 10-20 years ago, and then I realized I don't know any other good emulators for modern hardware.

With this kind of progress, the WiiU will be emulated perfectly before any PS360 emulator. By the time 2018 ends, you'll be able to play all major WiiU titles seamlessly.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'm a complete layman in this area, so I'm curious, is Zelda so close to perfect emulation because it released on both the Wii U and the Switch (as in they're emulating the Wii U version), or will it be this easy for the Switch as well?

The XBox One has a pretty damn fine 360 emulator ;)

Yes Cemu is a Wii U emulator, so it plays the Wii U version.  Emulation for the Switch is still along way off.
