Forums - Gaming - It's a sad day - I have lost 5 years/300GB of my PS3 game installs and saves :'(

Turn that negative into a positive. Use it as an excuse to to shut the door on your backlog :)

You don't use ps plus? I always back mine up on the cloud.

That sucks :(. I wish PlayStation automatically backed up/restored to/from the cloud like Xbox does.

My PS systems auto upload to the cloud daily. Or do you mean that on XB1 it uploads this everytime a new local save is made?

Yeah anytime a change is made to the console whether it's a volume adjustment in the headset, a change to your pinned apps, a new save file is created/changed, etc. it's instantly backed up.

Those cloud saves also follow you to any console your account logs into and are automatically restored instantly.

It's a nice feature.

Thank God for ps+ Cloud save.

All lost like tears in rain. My 300gb hdd was full and I wanted to clone it to a 1TB hdd but unlike the third party software instruction turned out it was impossible because PC can't see PS3 data. I put the old hdd back in PS3 and nothing happened. I went to recovery screen but couldn't restore anything. I had plans for trophy hunting, at least a few platinums, now I can forget about that =( It would be a colossal waste of time to replay my games back to the old state.

I can think of no better reference for such a tragedy :(

Hahaha, and yes, I took that line from the movie. Watched it recently for the first time properly.

I'm still trying to grasp what I have lost... And I am unable to install firmware on the new 1TB hdd, I do everything by instruction bet get 'Corrupt data' message. Have tried two different thumbnail drives so far.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Oh man, I feel your pain. My PS3 hdd went bust in 2011 and I lost all my saves since 2007.

I know how it hurts.

Now with automatic daily back up to psn cloud our saves are much safer.
