As for preferences, I'll probably like MGS4 more. Shooters are fun and everything, but I've come to vastly prefer ones with something else than just shooting over the years. Sneaking and shooting wins over just shooting from cover in my books.

Reviews will probably be roughly equal. MGS4 is definitely in 90+ territory, and while we don't know much about Gears 2, it probably won't do substantially worse than the original.


 MGS2 sold even more than MGS3 and the PS2 had a MUCH smaller user base at that time.

Both as they should both be great games. MGS4 on the ps3 and for me I will wait until GOW2 comes out on PC.

Both look very promising but I loved the MGS games more than GOW so I go with MGS4.

Fenix may beat Snake in a fight. But when it comes to the bedroom, Snake has it where it matters =P there's more to the name than what you think my friend =D

On topic though. Wouldn't surprise me if Gears of wars 2 sold better, but I'm sure MGS4 is GOTY material where Gears won't be. But we all know sales numbers don't equal a great game. Look at Mario and Sonic lol.

the majority of the people in this thread are spot on. MGS 4 would have to be bundled with every PS3 in order to outsell GeoW 2. GeoW 2 will get to 7 million copies. MGS 4 will get to around 5 million copies.
