Forums - Gaming - Beat Zelda. SPOILERS! My honest and major problem with it.

First I would just like to say this is my favorite game of all time. And it deserves a perfect ten. But I can see why people would go as low as a seven. I spent over 70 hours in this game before I beat it making Link as badass as I could and finding everything I could on my own no guide. I found every memory. I got what I assume is the best armour. Found the Hylian shield. Found a giant horse. And after so much build up and spending all that time in the world. I found the ending to be incredibly anticlimactic. Like... I was pissed. Not only that!  only four dungeons that all look exactly the same and have basically the same mechanic and pretty much the same boss.. That's really lame. In fact lame enough for my to give it a nine. Surely everyone has to agree with that?

I didn't read this cos off spoilers but I was wondering did you play on Switch or WiiU cos I seriously need a new game to play on Switch after BOTW

Yes the dungeons are the low point of the game. The good part about them is that they are extremely easy to solve so you don't spend much time inside them.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Idk. The fact they have 120 shrines makes up for the 4 dungeons IMO. Agree with the ending but for me, the gameplay and exploration of the world makes that up.

Certainly won't disagree with you there; the final final boss is basically just the realization of the old "giant enemy crab; attack its weak spot for massive damage" meme. I'm willing to give the first stage of the final boss some leeway, as this is the first time that I can recall where a game of this scale has implemented such a wide scale of buffing/nerfing measures for a boss depending on previous player actions, but the boss design in this game as a whole is easily the worst from a 3D Zelda title.

I'm hoping that BotW will be something of a learning experience for future games that go for a similar degree of player freedom and provide a better sense of balance.

You said that it is your best game of all time, but pointed out certain valid problems, I did not play, but I have seen many fans saying the same, even with all the problems it is still your GOAT? I think you are still in honeymoon phase, after it passes I doubt you will look at them and still find it's the best game you've ever played, maybe not even the best Zelda.

No, it really is the GOAT. Its highs so far overshadow its lows, especially with so many of them, that it isn't even really a question. Every Zelda game has flaws, and the ones that have less have nowhere near the scale or ambition of this game, which was executed almost flawlessly.

OP: I don't disagree with anything you said.

It's my favorite game too.

I remember fans saying the same when Skyward Sword came out, every new Zelda  is the same case, maybe I am wrong or not, time will tells.

I'll never understand how people think the dungeon bosses are all the same. That's like saying all the koopalings are the same.

Edit: I haven't finished the game though. Keeping Ganon and Hyrule Castle to the very, very end for me.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
