Forums - Microsoft - Without doubt one of THE best games I've played in a long long time...

So last Sunday I finally got my XBox 360 after wanting one for a good year at least! I got an excellent deal on a spanking new Elite with 2 brand new games (PGR4, Lost Odyssey) and a chunk of preowned (Crackdown, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, FEAR, Shadowrun, Forza 2 and Far Cry) plus a Messenger Kit and a 2 year extended warranty from Gamestation for under £400

After having a 4 hour sesh on Live with a good friend of mine - I can happily say that Crackdown is without doubt one of the best game experiences I've had for so many months, and yet theres still one insanely simple way it can be a million times better!

The online co-op is restricted to two players only!!! After the ammount of fun we've had tonight blitzing all over the place, blowing up insane ammounts of shit, it should be illegal to restrict such an awesome playground to two players only. 4 players max would even be so much more amazing.

Any word on a sequel to this? It has to happen - IT HAS TO HAPPEN!!!

HOLY CRAP!!! Where'd you get a deal like that?

.......Which is why Crackdown is in our "must buy" database for older games.

Realtime Worlds, creators of Crackdown, recently got $50m in Venture Capital for upcoming projects. I've speculated that Crackdown 2 is possibly among the titles.

I think Crackdown was successful enough to warrant a sequel. Halo 3 may have sold the game but it was the title's quality that kept people playing it.

Also, with GTAIV coming out this year, the userbase of gamers that like sandbox games is going to get VERY big.

it was a great game and i hope they come otu with another---noting was as cool as leveling up and taking control of the city

really teh only complaint i have is they capped your guy way to quickly, well that and not having a map to show all the jump point collected/missing yet

Crackdown really was a pretty fun game, too bad it got severely overshadowed by the Halo 3 beta.

My only complaints were that the game was just REALLY repetitive and that all the guns except the sniper rifle were more or less useless since running up and kicking things worked so much better. Sure, things like the harpoon gun and rocket launcher were fun, but I always just went back to sniping and kicking.

You mean there where guns and things? I must have been far to busy 'orb hunting' to notice them.

In fact, I'm gonna get my copy back off of my brother tomorrow and find the elusive last few.

Heh, I think the 'from Gamestation' bit gives it away! :P Their basic deal is an Elite plus a brand new game (admittedly the choice is shit, PGR4 and Lost Odyssey (plus Halo 3 if you want) are the best of a bad bunch. The price for that is £260 plus an optional game from that for only £20 more, hence getting PGR4 and Lost Odyssey together brand new!

So that's £280 with the other £120 for the preowned games, they do 2 for £40, 2 for £30 and 2 for £20 deals, all depending on the age and quality of the games of course but I got a good pick for sure and an awesome deal out of it.

I am all up on the Crackdown bandwagon and too am hoping for a sequel!

I always thought the game was kinda meh, or a shoddy GTA knockoff (we have enough of those), but a couple weeks ago I downloaded the demo and was HOOKED.

I really like how they do the cell shading. Too many games just seem to tack on cell shading but the way it's handled in this game with the shading, lighting, explosions, etc. is beautiful.

The leveling system and orb hunting is fun, and while reptitive I didn't mind constantly blasting baddies and crazy explosions. I also like how the game mixes up the action with car races, rooftop races, and taking safe house back.

Jumping from roof to roof is pure bliss and the sense of height in the game is incredible. I actually felt like a super human, replicant killing machine.

I haven't played much with 2 players, but I can see that being pretty decent.

My only gripes with the game are ALL the cars except agency cars are shit. The Agency AI seems vastly dumb down in comparison to the bad guy AI, the infinite enemy respawning at times when fighting bosses (even after you deplete their recruitment ranks), and a lot of streets seem really narrow.

Small gripes but just my opinion. A lot of people don't know this (I sure as hell didn't) but the game was actually developed by the guy that came up with GTA3, so make of that what you will.

www.talkxbox.com - It is what it is!

Crackdown was one of THE big surpises last year...I ended up playing it for an awful long time...Orb hunting was an absolute blast...Getting to the top of the tallest tower then jumping off was probably the most exhilirating moment in gaming for me last year :)
Microsoft dropped the ball on the sequel by waiting too long to ask for it. I guess they were'nt expecting Crackdown to be so popular in it's own right(not just as a vessel for the Halo3 beta)...

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2
