Forums - Nintendo - EG: Fast RMX showcases Switch's technological leap over Wii U

I read the review on pocket gamer and it didn't sound very inspiring in gameplay terms. Maybe I got the wrong impression from it.

Not my sort of game anyway to be honest. I'm sort of drawn to them because of the graphics and then find I get bored quite quickly with only rare exceptions.

All the gameplay of F-Zero with none of the character or heart.

In the absence of F-Zero, though, it's definitely not settling.

I wish Nintendo would just give Shin'en one of their IP to work with already. They turn out absolutely stunning games and their technical knowledge of the hardware seems to be at least as good as Nintendos internal teams.

I think they are just a ten man team and don't really want to expand though.

Looks pretty sweet.

Time to give them F-Zero and a contract to make it for nintendo.

should have a retail release.
People would see it on shelves, and realize there is not only zelda to play.

Nice to see improvements such as these, definitely would like to see what other games can come later too

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Good to know. Unfortunately, I didn't want this on the WiiU so I can't justify buying this for the Switch. It's crazy. If Anybody bothered to make a game that wasn't indie, they'd probably have a million seller on their hands. Even a port of an AAA game would be gangbusters in the Switch right now.

The WiiU version was 480x720... lol

Well the Switch version can drop to 720p at times from its 1080p native most of the time but would normally drop to 900p under higher loads and only drops to 720p for extreme load. They haven't said what portable mode drops to under extreme load and it may be hard to tell on a portable screen. It wouldn't surprise me if it drops to 640x720p at those times. If it has 2 lower resolutions for docked mode with the gpu close to 400 gflops surely it will have similar drops when the gpu is at 150 gflops. Maybe it uses the enhanced performance mode but that is still half of docked at 200 gflops.

Shin'en remind me of Factor 5 another german team that can extract the maximum performance out of hardware using a few tricks and maybe even like factor 5 a bit of  hand assembly here and there to optimise the code.

I really wish they would get F-Zero and once they've done it, Nintendo themselves would tweak it for enhanced playability. Shin'en have already created a capable engine for the game.

£16.99 in the UK I think for Fast RMX you can't knock the value of that. Pretty much a budget game from day one.
