Forums - Gaming - Quake Champions – Nyx trailer

Bethesda has released a new gameplay trailer for Quake Champions, focusing on the Nyx champion. Nyx is a champion that relies on stealth, whose active ability lets her sidestep danger and plan a careful attack.

She seems like my kind of character that I'd like to use, but at the same time I can see them making it easier to spot her when cloaked, or having it last 1-3 seconds, likely after testing is all said and done.

Signed up for the closed beta, but even if I don't get in, I'll still go for the open beta.

Bumpity bump.

Between this and Unreal Tournament, PC Arena FPS is coming back in a big way. Should be interesting to see which titles wins over the eSports crowd.

I am hoping they do some out-doorish environments, one of the best things about transitioning from Unreal Tournament to Unreal Tournament 2003, was how some maps opened up... So hopefully they take the same approach with Quake Champions.

At first I originally hated the idea of having "champions" for the upcoming game, but over time I decided that I'm going to give it a shot, same with UT.

I thought CSGO/Dota2/LoL had the majority of the esports crowd?, well most I've seen are on PC anyway, with the outside type crowds and games being on Rocketleague and CoD, possibly Smite, but that would be small and also some Street Fighter, but that's always going to be limited per title.

I'd also love for some open ended maps, maps that come with all sorts of twists and turns as well as neat vantage points (that could also lead to your demise if you aren't aware). The other good thing about QC, is they will sport a mode to play the game without Champs using their pwoers, so that crowd that wants to play like it's Vanilla Quake can do so.

Same. The first thing I thought of was Unreal Championship... And that Quake: Champions was just trying to cash in on Overwatch's success.

That can always change. :)
Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament used to be extremely popular in the competitive scene years ago.

Even games like Hearthstone, Smash Brothers, Street Fighter and Call of Duty are fairly popular in the eSports scene.

It's what most would go for =P. Just look at the other spins that came once OW and BB released, another scramble for that gold mine type genre/game all over again. Remember Gears and the third eprson, chest high walls craze?.

Why the movement animations look so bad.
