No thanks. I already damn the game to hell when it starts raining. Want to climb that mountain right now? Fuck you! Want to finish this golem who you started to fight in sunny weather? Fuck You!

I think I'm good with the survival elements as is, unless you're including the hyper-delicate weapons that have no option for repair, that just doesn't sit well with me.

That said, I think the option to increase the survival elements would be a nice touch, even if I'd probably never use it.

I would kill for a .gif of Link holding a sword, when a butterfly gently flutters over and lands delicately on the blade, shattering it onto a million pieces

I think the balance is fine as is. I wouldn't mind a similar game focussed more on survival elements, but I wouldn't want it to be Zelda.

That might overwhelm a number of players tbh but the is a harder mode coming in the DLC which might possibly add that tbh.

Maybe in like a survival mode, sure but in the main game... Hell no... While the survival stuff is interesting, I think Zelda has the right amount of balance for those of us that actually wants to complete the main story with those of us that just want to explore. Going a lot more in depth would probably make me skip it.

I'd say yes but in a different mode (Or difficulty, since there's one DLC planned with it) than the one already being offered. I love games like Don't Starve so a mode like that would speak to me inmensely.

I can't replay Fallout: New Vegas without activating the Hardcore Mode, which in essence makes you look for food, water and safe sleep, otherwise your character will start suffering heavy penalizations and eventually could die.

I like the sound of that. Kind of like Endurance mode DLC in Rise of the Tomb Raider (which is my favorite way to play the game).

In Fallout 4, Bethesda came back and added a free harder survival mode that ramped up damage, required you to eat, drink, and sleep, and introduced things like diseases and restrictions on saving your game.  It also took out fast travel and access to console commands, plus a bunch of other stuff.  Nintendo could always do something like that, though it would surprise me.  The positive with adding modes like that is that it allows for a different experience when you replay the game.

I think you might like Don't Starve.

I bought it on flash sale on PS4 a couple months ago. Maybe it's time to play it :)

Definitely give it a try if you like the survival elements in BotW and crave more of a challenge in that vein. Combat obviously isn't quite as refined as BotW, what with being an isometric 2D game and all, but the starving mechanic is brutal, yet fun and it has a much more involved suvival system than BotW overall, from what I'm able to tell after roughly 15 hours of BotW.
