Forums - Gaming - The most unexpected moment of FFXV caused me to shed a tear (No spoilers)

I thought the ad was pretty sweet. Got me a bit emotional. Ahhh. I need to put EDF 4.1 to the side and start this game.

Music is such an underrated component of video games. I think on a whole Square does a really good job of creating memorable, engaging soundtracks. FFXIII despite it's problems, had a really great soundtrack. Good music is able to enhance a narrative and licit emotion from it's audience.

My personal favourite main theme is MGS1's The Best is Yet to come and Snake Eater. Every time I hear those tracks, I instantly want to go replay the ENTIRE MGS saga.

Perfect.

OMG The nostalgia dude!  I love the Snake Eater theme song. It stuck out like a sore thumb because of the tone of the game. It was almost like a parody of itself, since the game was so serious yet the characters were so outrageous. My favorite MGS of them all as well.

MGS3 is probably the GOAT game in my eyes. It uses music pretty well actually. Like Snakes climb up the ladder in MGS3...and then the snake eater theme slowly bleeds into the background, blending in with the sound of Snake's ascension up the ladder.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I dont really shed tears. But FFX, FFVIII, and Kingdom Hearts come close. FFXV doesn't compare for me.

Eyes on me, Simple and Clean, and To Zanarkand/ Revealed Truth brought more emotion from me.

I've never really considered it a game, but life is strange not only nearly made me shed a tear a couple of times during the game, but at the ending I full blown cried like a little baby for about 10 minutes straight. It didn't stop there though I went through some sort of mild depression the following week going through all the stages of loss.(and listening to the ost and watching life is strange gmv's on YouTube)

I haven't shed a tear let alone cried consuming any sort of media, since I first watched the lion king when I was about three or four and king mufasa died.

If they would only bring those Shadow Hearts to the PS again.

The story and setting were wonderful, close by in real life actually.

Talking about underappreciated gems.
