I wish I could say that I care, it does truly sadden me when I hear about various series losing it over time. But it's honestly not something I've done in a long time. My GF doesn't really play games, I've moved away from all my gaming friends, and I care more for big single-player RPGs anyway. At least Nintendo seems to be keeping it a priority these days, as their games were the only games I ever played with local MP anyway. As long as Smash Bros will let me play with friends, I'm not sure how much I care about anything else.

I find it strange though that you speak as if local co-op as if it's becoming a rare feature. I've had great local MP games to play with friends with every generation, although I've played more so on Nintendo consoles, as they tend to have a fair amount of them.

Of course, though I have trouble finding people that also own the same system and games, it's really great to be able to play local multiplayer without internet

Also, now that the Switch will have paid online, it's even more useful :p

Yes, but not enough to care about Snipperclips and Bomberman. Now if Zelda offered local co-op, 12/10 game.
Might care enough to buy lego city undercover again for co-op despite already having finished it twice.

co-op/local multiplayer is one of the best features(if we can call that) in gaming.
without researching i tought halo 5 would have local co-op(its halo, halo always had co-op) and just bought. biggest deception...
and the reason mario 3D world is my favorite mario game ever.
i think this is probably the reason i love wii U more than ps4 and one, and im looking forward switch and its coop games. sniperclips seems to be a lovely game for my style. better splatoon 2 have a co-op mode, splitscreen, no buy if not...
About the price, i usually call 4 to 8 players at my home for playing smash, runbow, wii party, ray legends, 3d world, mario tennis, kart, sonic racing, fast neo, etc on wii U. i think if it didnt have this co-op/local multiplayer focus, and it was multiplayer only, in total we would have to buy 4 to 8 wii Us in total. the total price for the same fun would be 4 to 8 times higher(and if it apply for other wii U owners, wii U would have sold 4 to 8 times more)

Nope. It's nice in some games I can play with the kids, but for the most part I'm a grown ass man and my friends/siblings that I used to play local MP with, I now play online with.
