I understand that casual reviews don't need to be an essay. However, it's ridiculous how something as simple as a review turns into a goddamn war on the internet. 

 

Are people allowed to dislike a game? Sure, but it's obvious when a game is clearly in a review war if so many people give it a 0. A game will need to LITERALLY be unplayable to be a 0. 

 

I honestly don't think it's worth getting mad over. I've listened to very harsh reviewers  (like projared) and think I'll trust them instead. Too bad people feel the need to be so petty.

 

I kind of expected this, but oh well. The toxicity of the gaming community will always turn others and I off.

Jealousy... period. That's all it is. Zelda is shaping up to be the game of the decade at they can't stand it because it's not on their system.

I think that is pushing it a bit far I am a HUGE zelda fan and I am sure it is a great game but honestly Nintendo gets a lot of generosity with their reviews. Again I am sure it is a great game but I sincerely doubt it can touch Ocarina of Time. (I realize they are different decades but you get my meaning)

Sometimes user reviews can be helpful if the game in question is a small tittle of a not very known franchise like Neptunia for example, but when its a big game and its also an exclusive you can bet your life  that its gonna turn into a fanboy war.

Not only that, it's getting game of the decade on Day One of the system's launch. That probably makes it 10X worse for those people who are jealous that it's not something they can say about their favorite system.

You know this is nothing new right? Like this practice has literally been going on for ever and affects all platforms.

This is also exactly why when analyzing statistical data outliner results from the norm are ignored.

Never went to metacritic before so never saw this kind of behaviour. Pretty disgusting tbh.
Some people take their console hate way too seriously and should probably seek professional help.

It's not pushing it too far when you consider someone giving THIS game a... zero? There's no other excuse lol. And I've spent the last 17 years online, telling everyone nothing can touch OOT and nothing ever will. I've been the biggest fanboy of OOT since it launched all those years ago and this is the first time I feel a game has matched it. Granted, I'm not that far into the game but seriously. And I didn't even care for WW nor did I play SS because fuck motion controls. I'm not biased. This game is the real deal so if anyone is giving it freakin' zeros? They're either just doing it for trolling purposes or they're insecure and raging.

I don't get bothered by 0 reviews at all really. It's not like A whole bunch of people giving a game a 0 is going to destroy the world or anything. If that's a way for them to vent their anger or occupy their time, rather than doing something truly hazardous, then by all means go for it!

Metacritic trolls hand out 0s to great games all the time. If getting a 0 qualifies you to be a game of the decade, then you're going to have a couple hundred games of the decade.

Even more troubling is that many of those 0s (and some of the 10s too) appeared pretty much as soon as users could review the game, midnight launch day. Did they even played 1 minute? We know the answer.
