Forums - Sony - It's going to feel weird buying a PS4 Pro on Nintendo Switch launch day today ...

I did not expect myself to get the PS4 Pro on Nintendo Switch launch day at all! I wanna have a kick-ass weekend so I'm gonna get a Pro!

I stated my reason for choosing the Pro over the Switch in an earlier thread so short and simple. I sell my old PS4 to help get PS4 Pro so PS4 Pro is the cheaper option. AND I'll already have games on the Pro too! I'd like to thank Rocket League for finally making the Pro worth to buy for me. I play that game everyday and also Fallout, Skyrim and Mafia 3 that supports Pro. I'm going to get Ratchet and Clank also with Infamous New light.

Zelda Breath of the Wild seems cool and I WILL pick it up once Splatoon 2 releases. It's just the delays turned me away from Breath of the Wild. I was just like you being excited for it, dissapointed about the delays, but when it got delayed to this year.... I kinda lost most interest in it. I'm gaining my interest back tho!

Nintendo Switch I KNOW you're awesome and I'll see you once Splatoon 2 releases!!

Games currently playing: Rocket League, Overwatch, GTA V, and little it of Rainbow Six Siege.

Enjoy your Pro :)

Seems to me that if you do not have a 4K TV the upgrade was not really worth it.

Understandable, but You will readily have a ton of games to play with the pro. Realistically speaking you're in a better position when it comes to games availability.

It's not real 4K but it's an upgrade. You need anywhere from an hdr ready tv to 4K. It uses S checkerboard rendering technique to simulate the look but it's not authentic. Still beautiful though.

When Splatoon 2 rolls around, I'm sure we'll be seeing more second thought threads for getting the Switch

Oh I do! I have a 4K gaming monitor I snagged last black friday. I can finally fully use it!

Are there any non 4k HDR tv's even made?

As for OP. To each their own I guess. I personally don't see why one would pass up on a NEW console with different games and just get a slight upgrade on something, especially if they are planning on getting that new console sometime this year anyway. Makes more sense to get the new one now and upgrade later.

Get Horizon and Yakuza Zero!

Yup, beautiful on a 4K TV, I think the advantages on a 1080p TV are minimal, better framerate? A little bit better textures? What else? To me is definitely not a worthy upgrade.
