Bandorr said: I thought QB got advertised a lot more than Halo wars 3. I saw a lot more of those commercials. It was at more E3s. They made a really big deal of the "look at these actors". Plus I remember Greenburg super hyping it up. Plus there was a lot of articles about it. It was a brand new IP with famous actors and an interesting take on episodes and stories. |
I'm not sure as for TV ads but the QB ads on YT have a total of 7.3m views https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=quantum+break+ad While the Halo Wars 2 ads have 22m views. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=halo+wras+2+ad
When an ad plays ion another video it counts as a view so Halo wars 2 got a lot more ad time than QB.

You're confusing ads for hype. Just because MS is pushing one game more than the other doesn't mean it had more hype. A MUCH better way to judge it is to look at the views of gameplay vids. That's where people are so invested in the game they are actually going to sit for 15-30 mins to check the game out.
The highest viewcount for a HW2 gameplay vid is ~1.1M views, with the IGN video receiving ~635K views. QB, on the other hand, has a viewcount of ~1.7M, with the IGN vid receiving ~1.5M view, or over 2x the amount that HW2 did. QB actually has a vid of over 4M views and a few over 2M, however, I didn't include them because it's not 100% fair since it's Pewdiepie, and many come just for him. Though, the fact that Pewdiepie hasn't done a HW2 may be evidence in itself that the game isn't as big a deal as QB was.
