Well Halo Wars 2 generated way more hype and interest than QB did.

Actually, both games had comparable first week sales in the UK.

QB sold somewhere around 28K. Halo Wars 2 sold somewhere around 30K. For Honor sold >110K first week. It had a 72% drop in the second week (30-31K), but it still finished ahead of Halo Wars 2.

Well Halo wars 2 wouldnt have sold much more than QB in the UK. Remedy games do pretty well there. Maxy Payne 3 sold like 50k on the xb360 fw while Halo wars OG did 65k.

I thought QB got advertised a lot more than Halo wars 3.

I saw a lot more of those commercials. It was at more E3s. They made a really big deal of the "look at these actors". Plus I remember Greenburg super hyping it up. Plus there was a lot of articles about it.

It was a brand new IP with famous actors and an interesting take on episodes and stories.

I'm not sure as for TV ads but the QB ads on YT have a total of 7.3m views https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=quantum+break+ad While the Halo Wars 2 ads have 22m views. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=halo+wras+2+ad

When an ad plays ion another video it counts as a view so Halo wars 2 got a lot more ad time than QB.

However, as you pointed out, the Halo Wars 2 ad has 3x as many views as the Quantum Break ad. With that much more exposure and attention to the public, wouldn't HW2 have sold "much more" than QB?

Good point with so much more advertising it should have sold a lot more. Should be interesting to compare them when we got other info like NPD.

Mhmm. Sure it did...

And even if it did that ain't much of a compliment.  Hype for QB deflated really quick in the lead up to launch.

I think gameplay footage and reviews kinda deflated the hype a little.  It still turned out be a good game. And up until it's release Xbox fans were pumping it up to be a killer exclusive.  For a little while there, it was the only big one they had to hype.

Ehh it really wasnt imo. Felt very dull and the gameplay didnt feel very special with the time gimmick. IMO its the worst Remedy game ive played.

You're confusing ads for hype.  Just because MS is pushing one game more than the other doesn't mean it had more hype.  A MUCH better way to judge it is to look at the views of gameplay vids.  That's where people are so invested in the game they are actually going to sit for 15-30 mins to check the game out.

The highest viewcount for a HW2 gameplay vid is ~1.1M views, with the IGN video receiving ~635K views.  QB, on the other hand, has a viewcount of ~1.7M, with the IGN vid receiving ~1.5M view, or over 2x the amount that HW2 did.  QB actually has a vid of over 4M views and a few over 2M, however, I didn't include them because it's not 100% fair since it's Pewdiepie, and many come just for him.  Though, the fact that Pewdiepie hasn't done a HW2 may be evidence in itself that the game isn't as big a deal as QB was.

When do you guys think will Sony make Horizon the main bundle, instead of Uncharted 4?

doubt it might happen. UC4 is still moving consoles. by the time september comes along Destiny 2 will most likely release. then battlefront, RDR and CoD. i think those will dominate the bundles this year. we could see a Horizon bundle at black friday though. Sony has invested a lot of money in this game, im sure they want it to sell a lot and make a good profit out of it.
