But even the President of the United States of America says journalists are biased and not biased towards him dependent of if they write good or bad stuff
funny... I didn't see the switch reviews as particularly bad. None of the "negative" points make me 2nd guess my intended purchase. I didn't mistrust them though or think any I read were being unfair. Just not things that trigger me.
The Zelda reviews give a lot of hype and expectation... hopefully its not skewing my expectation.

Yesterday the Nintendo Switch was reviewed, some good reviews, a lot of mixed reviews and some negative reviews. Doubters were saying "yeah accept the fact fanboys, the switch is not that good" while fans were saying "Yeah these reviews are not good and I don't trust this" Today Breath of the wild was reviewed, 98 meta score and tons of 10/10. Now, doubters are saying "yeah this game doesn't deserve this scores, the media is biased" while fans are saying "fuck yeah best game ever made" The media can't be biased towards something, and the next day biased towards to other side. It's time to use critical thinking and say "hey, maybe different reviewers review different things and sometimes I don't agree but that doesn't mean that an entire editorial is full of haters or biased people" |
Sadly, it's gonna happen. More for some, less than others. Not excusing it, just saying it is what it is. Vote for your dollar and have fun. But I get where you're coming from.
Well to me, and this is just me, but I don't think reviews of systems are as important as reviews of games.
To me if a system can play games, then it's done its job.
It's always crazy how invested people are with reviews of games and consoles they don't have yet. Reviews exist to set a merit-based overall consensus but aren't definitive nor are they telling the reader how the reader should feel, and it's perfectly fine to go against what the critical world has deemed, it's not proof that you're crazy!
From all the reviews I've read and watched of the Switch, all the complaints seem absolutely worth bringing up, and will likely be echoed by many of the people who end up buying it, just as the proprietary memory cards were a sticking point for both reviewers and consumers when the Vita was released. With hardware, there are a lot more functional and statistical measures in play, so disregarding the complaints reviewers have had is a little bit stubborn, especially when you probably haven't touched one yet.
It once again demonstrates that gamers and the most immature, pathetic people on the planet. As an owner of all consoles, it is extremely embarrassing to see these people and their double standards.
Hi
Hell people are trying to say Nintendo is buying review scores. It's like, they don't even pay for exclusive content or try to buy exclusive games (saving them when no other company would is different) from third parties. Why would they be interested in buying something as trivial as review scores?

If yall have to ask ME, I would say, yes, the NS is not a good console (like I always said from beggining, and mostly cause of what offers for the price) and yes, Zelda BotW is a good game, it looked like it from trailers, and Meta has confirmed it. So yes, in response, media cant be biased on one side one day, and change the next.
