3hr47min to be exact. There's a test out there. So, 59min. Zelda is still an offline game. Playing on wifi will consume more juice.

That's not the same test I found, but there were more intensive games on Vita, just take a look at Killzone Mercenary

2h -2.5h of battery. Offline. Lol. That's less than Zelda on Switch and a similar thing happens with games like Freedom Wars

I highly doubt Splatoon drains battery as fast as zelda despite the Wifi, same as MK8. But we'll see that very soon.

My source is not a gamefaqs topic but this:

Lmao, you already have to turn this into a Sony vs Nintendo war when that is not the point at all, you really have no solution.

Also, I don't know about any 3DS game that lasts less than 3 hours on default mode however we know about Vita games that last less than 2.5 so ... not sure about what point you think you are making.

But the point is this console has a similar battery life than Vita/3ds, and you would never say Vita ia a shitty portable console because it can last only 2 hours while playing an online match in Killzone, however you suggest switch is a bad one because lasts a bit under 3 hours while playing a massive open world like BoTW, there is such an epic amount of hypocrisy there, as usual.

GameXplain got 2,5 h with all on MAX settings, light, WiFi etc. So a normal settings I think we can get 3 hours easy.

About the same battery life as my original 3ds at max settings, you can just lower them to last for longer, Gamexplain already did a test with Zelda at max settings on the Switch and got 2 and a half hours so 3 hours should be no problem to attain.

Lol as if the vita had much better battery life.

Tip: On intensive games it didn't

For nintendos sake I hope the NS isn't in any way cmpared to the Vita.

You gave me a new thread idea!

It's not very good. People are saying that you won't play 3 hours straight, which is true, but I usually like to play like an entire hour, leave it on and then play again a bit latter. I usually keep playing like this for an entire weekend with my Vita. The PSV is, right now, the handheld with the lowest battery life and it clocks at more than 5 hours.

I want to buy a Switch, but I'm starting to think if it isn't best to wait for the obvious incoming price cut (PS4 will be 199 during Holidays, they will cut the price) and the redesigned model in 3 years that will improve this battery life.

I haven't done a direct comparison like I normally do and I haven't checked online but I feel that the Vita haz a better battery life than the New Nintendo 3DS (which is MUCH better than my old 3DS). Both are acceptable, though. In my opinion, of course.

In any event, we will all know for sure in about a week! Can't wait!

I've never got a battery life that low with Killzone, only when playing online. Offline, it goes close to 4 hours and my Vita is the OLED one. It's irrelevant that the world of Zelda is big, because the test with Killzone was done playing online. Network connectivity drains the battery faster than anything. You can test it with your phone. If I turn off 4G and use only Wi-fi, I will get 2 to 3 days. Wi-fi off? A week easily.

Are you sure? I've always seen people with 3DS having their batteries lasting longer. Maybe the Vita has a more efficient sleep mode so it seems like it lasts longer. I would like to have a bit more, but it seems enough to me, definitively much more than my phone (with a 3600 mah battery) can do.

I would like to see how Switch will do with an online game. I'm thinking it is, right now, a bit underwhelming.

Still better than the wii u gamepad
