A simpler solution is just allowing transsexuals to use the bathroom they're more comfortable with.

I simply see too much room for abuse there. Any pervs could easily claim they're trans just so they can get into the opposite restroom to try and get a peek, or worse.

Is that too hard for you guys to understand?

I would never feel safe with my daugher going to a bathroom where any men could enter just for claiming that he's transexual. And if he's not? Will be a supervisor in every bathroom to guarantee who is trans and who is not? Wouldn't that be more embarassment to trans people?

Also, that's not a fucking demonstration of hate over transexuals, that's not something to make them feel bad, it's just a simple fucking bathroom. If you have a dick, you go to men's bathroom. If you don't have, then you can go to the ladies room. SImples as that. It should be that easy. Sincerely, I get disappointed everytime I see an irrelevant question like that turning into something big. IT'S JUST A BATHROOM.

It's fearmongering. Show me sources that show that there are people pretending to be transsexual so that they can sexually abuse kids in the bathroom of the opposite gender.

Trump was just afraid of running into a female-to-male transgender person with bigger hands and dick than him in the urinal next to him

Because I don't think people should be able to walk in whichever bathroom they want just because they "feel" a certain way. Bathrooms (and certain other places) are separated by gender for a reason and "feelings" don't change those reasons.

Do you realize how many transsexuals attempt to commit suicide? It's about 41%:

Discriminating against them further will only make things worse. It's not like they decide "hey, I guess that I'll be a girl today, let's just walk into the women's bathroom." That's not how things work. Now, I'm not sure what your reason is for bathrooms being seperated by gender, but I assume it's because of risk of sexual assault. Well, transgenders are much more at risk of being sexually assaulted than sexually assaulting others:

Bathroom laws aren't going to help suicide rates. Discrimination is t the cause of this. When blacks faced much harder discrimination they weren't killing themselves at this rate.

Discrimination makes it much worse. If they were more accepted, is it not logical that they would be less willing to kill themselves?

Now there's no way for me to verify if she's telling the truth but it's really not hard to believe:

Right now transgender people use the restroom they identify with. Can any person here tell me they've seen a transgender person in a public bathroom while you were in there? Be honest!

As someone who lived in Portland Oregon for 6 years, I have. Many times. Nothing happens. They use the bathroom and leave just like anyone else. However, Portland was more tolerant of transgender people than most places are so there wasn't any harassment I was ever made aware of.

I was once in the same bathroom as a transgendered person... it was the most horrific time of my life.
They took a shit and it smelled so bad. OMG ew.

And where are they going to get the space for that in schools? Would they even be used enough to justify them? How much would they get bullied by the other students for using them?

I'd be willing to bet they'd get bullied a lot less than any boy going in to the girls bathroom or vice versa...

OK then, so where would they put the tetiary bathrooms? They'd have to redesign the entire school.

Fantastic news! Trump may end up being the best president of my lifetime. Common sense may make a comeback.

That's why he was elected in the first place. For the comeback of a little sanity and reasonability. But, I'm a little afraid that maybe he could turn out to just used that for vote.

Yeah, and the one and only reason they all commit suicide is because they cannot freely choose the toilet. Their high suicide rate doesn't have anything at all to do with the fact that transgender is a kind of mental disorder.

Anyway, since I'm not from the US, I'm wondering: Toilets are far from being the only area where we still have gender segregation, so there are much more areas where transgender people will face conflicts. How did Obama solve the following issues:

- changing rooms, for example in public swimming pools or gyms. Can I go into the ladies changing room and showers in case I feel kind of female today? Where do transgenders go to in such situations, are they free to choose?

- gender segregation in sports. Can transgender people choose which gender they play for? Will the german female soccer team soon consist of 11 people who were born men, but somehow feel trapped in a man's body whenever the female soccer world cup approaches?

- women's parking spaces etc. Now available for whoever currently identifies as female?
