Forums - Gaming - Zelda MMO

Honestly, when Nintendo revealed their Zelda DLC plans, I was quite upset; it is not that I do not want DLC, it is just not the expansion that I want.

I will:
  Buy the current DLC.
I will enjoy the new story.
I will see what "Hard mode" has to offer.

I am not mad that Zelda is getting DLC, it is their highest budget game after all.

But. Come on Nintendo give me multiplayer; you are going to make us start to pay for online, this would be a magnificent way to add value to that service.

Why would you want Zelda MMO? If it didn't have a subscription it's own, it would really ramp up the price of the online fee.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

I don't know if Nintendo has the experience or infrastructure to really support the development of an MMO, especially for one of their core franchises, which would take a whole lot of extra effort to please fans. It's a cool pipe-dream idea to me, but personally, I'd prefer them to focus on other things :)

All I really want is a place where Zelda fans can hang out and fling people over mountains; not a full-on story based MMO adventure.
Though if Nintendo were to make a, from the ground up Zelda MMO, I would play it.

I wouldn't be against an MMO, but not sure if Zelda would be the best choice.. Something like Pokemon could work, but I don't know if Nintendo has the experience to pull it off and make it good :/

I would be fine with 2 player with player 2 controlling Wolf Link or something :p

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

I'm back. If you think about what Nintendo has done with Splatoon and ARMS I could see them try out an MMO for the first time.
Splatoon was Nintendo's first online shooter. ARMS is Nintendo's first 3D fighter. Why not a Nintendo MMO?

Aye, this is indeed a new era.

MMO's make for the most exciting games in your head, and then you realise how terribly stale they always are in reality.

It's difficult to make a good MMO, it's not worth the risk, at least with Zelda because it doesn't inherently lend itself to an MMO like Pokemon.

They're expensive to make, in an over-saturated market and they're almost all the same, because no ones found a way to make it feel fresh since WoW.

If there is anything in the world than I would despise more in Zelda than DLC, it's multiplayer.

What about a free update?
