Just a random prediction that I came up with while watching the latest Zelda: Breath of the Wild gameplay from this video (in particular 1:27) : 

I think The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will have a scanning feature/scanning focused quest related to the animals you can find in the overworld, why you might ask ? Well, for the same reason the feature was implemented in Metroid Prime: to make the game more appealing to japanese players.

It may have some features/aspects that draw upon the MP inspiration, it doesn't seem too far-fetched to me. Still ... Maybe Nintendo will keep them separate and give us a proper Metroid experience later =p

Going to avoid watching any more footage except for new trailers now

Would be neat to have this added in, but could also be a hassle :p
