I guess in the end it comes down to perspective. Here in Australia keeping a PC updated enough to play the PS3/360 ports is massively expensive. Perhaps that will change in a year or so once PS3/360 games start to really lag behind the PC in terms of performance. Of course once it becomes that noticeable, there won't be as many cross-over games.

That doesn't change the fact that there are those willing to build PCs for games, enough to buy over a million copies of a game that has the most intense hardware requirements of any yet on the market.

Should we have excluded the ps3 a year ago because it was "too expensive"?

I don't think your quite getting the situation here in Australia. The PS3's price (while expensive), doesn't even begin to approach the cost of a gaming PC, whether you build it yourself or not.

In addition, PC gaming simply isn't big here at all. There are other factors of course, slow internet, console dominance, but price is the big one.

And what about the world outside of Australia?

And, like I said, there are still people willing to invest in PCs despite the high price, much like there were people who bought ps3s at launch.

the sheer awesomeness of starcraft's sig motivated me to change mine

Somehow I don't think we are going to reach agreement;)

Fortunately, it is a moot point, as my sig is 100% factually correst (thanks to Okey's reminder to update it).

You can choose to pay attention to it or not pay attention to it at your leisure.

The PC section at my local EB is twice as big as the ps3 section o_O

They have a whole wall of PC crap and then just a little dark corner for the ps3.

I'm quite sure the PC platform is more popular than the Gamecube or PSP ever have been down here. You wouldn't leave those systems out of comparisons like this now would you?

Two PS3 games fit your definition of 'F' btw.

To be honest, I would consider anything under 50 to be a Fail.  That would make the count for all three consoles far higher *sigh*.

Like the first Xbox the gamecube is long gone, but here in NSW the PSP is a fairly big deal (not like the DS, but still pretty big).  Not so in QLD?
