Over the history of the series, Metal Gear Solid has consistently been a AAA franchise, always scoring over 90% on metacritic (something not even Gran Turismo or Final Fantasy have managed).

What this means is, it is likely in June the PS3 will receive it's very first AAA console exclusive.  Does anyone believe that MGS4 will match (or even exceed) its predecessors?  Or will it fall short of their brilliance?

Not being a fan of stealth games, I know little about the title, and am genuinly curious as to whether the excitement is all fanboy hype, or a realistic impression of the games potential to be brilliant.

Futhermore, if the title acheives AAA status, will it hold it indefinately? Or will my sig eventually have to be re-edited due to the arrival of a 360 version?

Like I said, I don't have much interest in stealth games, so I've done little reading on things like MGS4 and Conviction.

Actually given what I consider to be PC gamings relative nicheness and prohibitive entry costs, I consider them genuine exclusives.  But too many people had a bitch when I put that.
