Forums - PC - So i want to buy WoW....

Oh, and as for servers, avoid the low and high populated ones. Try and find something in the middle so there's no queue times to log in, but enough so that you can find groups easier.

World of Warcraft is a great game enjoy.

Dammit, I thought this thread was about Words of Wisdom.

Don't listen to the other guys. As long as you know where your priorities are you'll not be affected by the game.

WoW is the most influential game of the last 10 years, and one of the best games of alltime, so you will most likely love it.

And don't pirate the game, since it's pointless and it won't show you the best part of the game: the community. That and the pirated version is full of glitches and lots of stuff missing, and you can't even find people to do instances or raids or pvp (another big parts of WoW)

it's too time consuming and it takes over your life. It's why I'm back to consoles as my main gaming... You can turn it off easier. WoW Raids your life :P

Word of advice; there are two ways to play WoW:
Either you do like I did and basically run solo, get your ass handed to you all the time and level up three times as slowly as others, or;
you find a group which pretty much live their entire lives through WoW to level up and do instances with, leaving you a broken and beaten and sad little nerd indeed.
Also; the PvP is horribly, horribly unbalanced, quests get tedious REALLY quickly (brave adventurer! fetch me five furs! etc) and the game itself is not really all that big.
I played for three weeks straight, got to level 47 with my Paly (Paladin) and then just quit, I was more bored than I'd ever been with a game before.
Lucky for me, I don't possess the addiciton gene or whatever, so I dodged a bullet there it seems...

wow some horrible stories here
well, i went out and bought the game
at an EB and so far i've had fun

Attacking by righ-clicking on the mouse
feels a little primitive to me tho (imho)
guess i'm too used to consoles lol

Q:
how do u find groups?
everytime i try to talk to someone
they are either AI or ppl who
call me "n00bie" and walk away
:/

You should find some other "Noobies" to join you, but there are very few usually. This is one reason to hate the game, see what I wrote above.
I mostly soloed because I didn't want to sit through 5-6 hour instances with a bunch of uber hardcore players, but I did join a nice guild that lent a hand now and then if I asked them!
If you're gonna solo, Paladin and Shaman are good solo classes imo0.

DON'T PLAY IT!

It's a hoax. You spend all this time leveling, thinking you're getting stronger, then you find out at the level cap that anything worth doing requires a small army.

It's just a Diablo leveling treadmill. Nothing more.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks
