They must have seen the reception of Battlefield I and wanted to replicate it.

This game has been in development since late 2014/early 2015. BF1 has most definitely nothing to do with it.
Personally enjoyed what they did with the infinite warfare Campaign, especially specialist mode, but defs should have been a spinoff title. Real keen for a new WW2 fps after all these years.

I would have said the same thing as Polyglot =p but maybe CoD has made the change independently, yeah. I liked BF1 a fair bit, I'd be keen to see CoD make a similar change, if they do it right with their own flair to it.
CoD points made a killing for them apperantly. So anyone hoping gameplay content won't be hidden behind a pay wall like it is in BO3 and IW will be sorely disappointed. Activision can go fuck them selfs

WW2 or Vietnam hopefully. But really what cod needs is a gameplay overhaul. Like fuck me sideways once you start playing battlefield, cod just seems so refined and basic.
How about start with destructible environments. Like how rainbow 6 does it. That would add an amazing dynamic especially for SnD.
In future make some bigger maps with vehicles. In the end they really should be making a game with a mixture of big maps that play like battlefield and smaller maps that play like rainbow 6.
But that would require effort and real innovation. They'll probably just milk the formula for another 10 years.

Yup, Activision-Blizzard made $3.6BILLION with DLC (Microtransactions, Season Passes, DLC packs etc.) in 2016.
every FPS has it's roots in Doom, so they just mean it will take place on Mars ;)
nah, gamesindustry-messiah Hitler will make CoD great again

I was blown away by the single player campaign in Infinite Warfare. Multiplayer, on the other hand, is a pit of despair.
Call of Duty can go to whichever time period it wants. Just deliver a great multiplayer experience once it's there.
